Since taking over the new owner, Ed, has created a fantastic village pub that has quick become a favourite of ours. The inside is fresh and inviting and the beer garden, with its beautiful views of the historic church, is one of the best in the local villages. We sampled the new menu and were both really impressed with the dishes and service. We’d heard lots about “the pie” and it lived up to all the recommendations. Ed, Tom and Dean have created a little gem here with a relaxed, genuinely friendly environment. Lots of veggie options. Baby and dog friendly.

One of our dogs insisted we call in today for coffee! She dragged us there and we were very glad she did. Lovely place, very hospitable host and great coffee at a good price. Nice to sit in the beer garden overlooking the church. Would definitely recommend.

Popped in for sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Super friendly staff, excellent atmosphere, beautiful decor and the food is AMAZING!! Haven't been there before and will definitely be going back. Cannot rate it any higher to be honest. Most of all, absolute value for money! Thankyou.

What a fantastic pub! Food was delicious!
Greeted with a warm welcome as soon as we stepped inside, it was clean, a well set out floor plan. Outside was a lovely well maintained beer garden.
We were served promptly with a smile, we didn’t wait long for our food to be served, the steak and ale pie was the best I’ve tasted in a while, perfect ratio of filling to pastry 🥮
My sons burger looked amazing, and as a fussy eater, he demolished the lot, so that’s a compliment in itself!
We’ll definitely be revisiting with family again

Just spent the evening here. What a lovely place, staff friendly and welcoming. I ordered the fish with home made chips and mushy peas with sticky toffee pudding for afters and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Will definitely be revisiting.

Parked next to Farfon bridge and walked along the Dee. Visited Holt Castle before walking back to the car. Stopped in for a swift pint of Wainwrights on the last leg of this walk on a hot summers afternoon. Nice beer garden and even nicer shaded marquee to sit under with my pint
