Mehdi Indian

Has been a few years since I've been as not local but went again last night and it's as good as ever! They also remembered me which was a fab touch. I asked for a "tweaked" fish curry as wanted something hot and what I got was perfect, lots of heat but still packed with flavour. Thanks guys! Lovely evening.

Went here with my girlfriend and her family, food was brilliant, had heard very good things about the restaurant but was a bit dubious due to its location. Inside is a very well decorated Indian with fair pricing and even better food.

The curry I had (prawn korma) is the best I have had from any curry house anyway and I shamefully eat a lot of curry, my only criticism is that the naans could be larger however this did nothing to detract from an excellent meal. Would thoroughly recommend

Hi me and my brother came to collect our order tonight, and we must say we tried the new dish on your menu Bihari chicken it was absolutely delicious! We like to try different dishes and we are glad we picked that one, we shared all our dishes out to the family and we are all super impressed. We will be ordering again! Thank you very much

Having just moved to the area we tried Mehdi as our new local Indian restaurant. The warm welcome we received was lovely, the staff were so accommodating as we enjoyed a drink whilst we waited for our take away. When we got the food home it was still lovely and hot and absolutely delicious! Have booked for a dine in meal next weekend!

The surroundings aren't great but there are rumours of development coming, but don't let that stop you if you like tasty food. We went there at around 7 on a Friday and no-one was there. By 8 pm the place was full !! What great food. So tasty. We went back and it was the same. I've not been to a restaurant before where the food has been prepared with such love - love of food. Usually a jalfrezi is just a plain old sauce with whole chillis thrown in. Not here, you could hardly see chillis, but the taste told you they were in there. Excellent. My only tiny issue is that the waiters don't speak good English as they couldn't understand some of our questions. But go, eat and love the flavours!

We had a lovely Christmas meal at Medhi this weekend and felt compelled to write a review after such fantastic service. The staff went the extra mile to ensure we were ok when another table was on the rowdy side. The food was delicious and the staff made us feel welcome and important to them. It was a truly enjoyable experience. Is that so?

Monday night in February, but there were still quite a few people in the restaurant so that must be a good sign. Food was lovely and the waiters were very attentive without being overly so. Thoroughly recommend it.

Great food staff can't do enough for us highly recommend

We ordered a takeaway on Sunday night. We ordered through the website. We received a phonecall very quickly to confirm the order and the time to collect. The food was ready within about 20 -25 minutes of placing the order. The food was ready at the restuarant when I arrived to no waiting around. The staff were very friendly. The food was very good. Will deffinitely order from here again.

This place never ceases to put a smile on my face. The food is absolutely 1st class and the service always comes with a smile. The restaurant can get very busy because it's so good so book early. Lively place with a great atmosphere and a owner that wants you to enjoy your meal.
I just can't fault it. My Indian of choice without a doubt.

Really tasty, well prepared curry. We've eaten in and had take aways and both experiences were excellent. The restaurant is modern, clean and they maintain low lighting, which for me is a must in an Indian restaurant especially.

Visited on Saturday night with my wife and son following a trip advisor recommendation and was not disappointed. The service was polite, efficient and fast and the food was fabulous. The owner was attentive and made us feel very welcome even though the place was very busy. Looking forward to the next visit. Many thanks!

The food certainly reminded me of my mum and grand mothers food.

Mehdi is a cut above the average suburban Indian restaurant/takeaway. The menu is varied and food is always top quality. The service is personal and warm. Try the ginger chicken or lamb. Use the online order website for ease of use and for a chance to win a £10 discount.

Outstanding food and service. Having eaten in many indian restaurants all over the world and UK, I can firmly say the Mehdi is my favourite by far. All the dishes on the menu are delicious and Rez, the owner, takes the time to make reccomendations for you which is much appreciated. Keep up the good work!

All I can say is WOW! this is by far the best Indian I have ever eaten in. The menu has all the usual but the best dishes always see to be the ones you haven't heard of! If you cant choose the waiter will happily recommend a curry depending on how hot you like it and what flavours you like. They will even give you some more green chilli if it didn't have enough kick!

Having enjoyed a lovely meal and a few takeaways I have to say the food was delicious. I found the staff very friendly. It's slightly more expensive than other good restuarants for a take away however the food speaks for itself and I am sure my family will enjoy many more meals from here.

We've been once before, and forgot how good it was!
After some poppadoms and then went straight for the mains. Three of us shared a lamb biryiani, a prawn curry and a chicken curry with masala sauce (sorry can't remember the actual names!). Also rice, garlic naan and an aubergine side dish. Everything was delicious, and we'll definitely be back to try more dishes.
