Southport Golf Academy

The course is always in great condition and I was pleasantly surprised how dry it was considering the heavy rain earlier in the week.

Called another course I usually play at which was closed due to bad weather so I was expecting this to be very wet and it wasn’t. Greens in particular in great condition and playing nicely. It’s a nice course that’s very well kept, tidy and with one par 4 and eight par 3 holes with a mixture of lengths (some as short as around 110 yards) and hazards it offers a good variety.

Shop is well stocked, they’ve got a cafe next to it with seating and prices are very competitive.

Very friendly staff and very welcoming. The course is always well-kept and the greens especially so. Very reasonably priced and ideal for those new to golf or are looking to improve their game.

I went to get custom fitted for some new irons and James was very helpful, sourcing a few different shafts outside of the standard ones the manufacturers put into their standard testing kits and was very patient whilst I made up my mind up, with zero pressure to buy. When I came to make the purchase the price was as good as was available anywhere so an all round excellent service. The range is great too, well maintained, decent mats and new balls and whilst I've not played it the par 3 course always looks very well looked.

Been playing for 6 years now and have had James as a coach since I started. Now hitting low eighties on a full size par 72 6500yd course at the age of 56. He always finds a way to make the next step easy to understand. Without doubt the best teacher I’ve ever come across. Highly recommended professional coach in all aspects of golf .

Really enjoy going round the 9 hole course. Greens kept lovely and the rough at each side of fairway is lovely, I spend a lot of time inspecting it.....

Very friendly owner/staff, haven't played for a long time so I just needed a 9 hole to get back into golf.
This was just the place,nice fairways and excellent greens.
The cost was very reasonable ,just have to be aware of the road to the left teeing off number 9.
All in all well worth the visit and as Arnie says "I'll be back"

This is a great challenging course. Only one 4par hole so low handicap players won’t use their drivers/Woods much. However the fairways are narrow and greens difficult. It really encourages accurate play. The course is extremely well kept, the grounds men get 10/10. The matting on the tees is quirky and difficult sometimes to get your tee to stay put. Your tee often bounces behind you after a good drive. The practice areas are very good and the driving range is as expected. The cafe is the best I’ve seen at a golf course. I want to join and play more regularly.

Always great, nice service from the shop. I normally get a bucket of balls for the driving range, a bottle of coke, a few balls and 9 holes of golf all for £20. Can't beat that!

Great facilities and Jimmy and his staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Lovely little course attached also.

Driving range is as you would expect and the challenging 9 hole par 3 course (except for the 1st) is great all year round. Can't wait for the 18 hole to open.

This 9 hole course will take some beating, the course is pristine, and a really good course to better your short game. The professionals at the academy are just that, they are very helpful and have a passion to introduce young people into this fantastic game. The driving range has plenty of undercover bays which is great in bad weather.
I have been coming here for a couple of years, and am going to miss it, as I am shortly moving away from the area. Which is one reason why I felt it right to leave a review.
No matter what level of golf you may be at I would definitely recommend a visit to this academy.

Golf Club and course look great, but don't know about course fees.

Played the golf course today and loved it. Was very impressesd with the layout and condition of the course. The greens were better than my home course ! James and Richie are lovely looking boys 🤨

Really good to go and hit a few balls. And the coaches there are brilliant

What a great set up - didn't know it was there - course is kept as good as any 'Ive been to and the teaching setup for ladies and juniors and all beginners must be ideal

Awesome couple of hours on the indoor simulator. James was a really sound fella helping to set it up for me.

Lovely nice local course, excellent in the sunshine and overall very enjoyable. Unlike my game.
