Lovely little shop, tucked away in Heritage Court. Great selection of new and used vinyl and they are happy to order records in for customers.

Ordered here on Wednesday, received a text saying that it was in store on Friday, and picked it up on Saturday. Great service and friendly staff; always good to support local businesses.

I recently got into record collecting and thought I had an issue with a record that I bought from here. Dave was super helpful, giving me tips over email. Turns out it was my record player and not the record I bought. I purchased a better quality one and my records sound great. From Empire I have bought Radiohead: In Rainbows and Muse: Origin of Symmetry remixes. I recommend this shop to anyone who likes records old and new as they also have a great rare section where I will be buying my dad a Christmas present from. Thanks Dave!

Worked at the Record Room , ( Chequers street ) 1960's -70s . We were the best record shop in Hertfordshire .( I was in charge of the Classical & Jazz section ) Empire Records ,Has the same philosophy as we had . Get that recording (For your buyer )
At all cost, No matter if you lose money on the deal .Your customer will become a friend and a client for life (Period ) . As for Eddie & Dave they Are on top of there Game + . Great shop for the Music Buffs .You won't be disappointed. Georgie .

"Thankyou to the Owner " Who's plan started this beautiful shop .

Excellent local record shop with a great selection of new and used vinyl. Correctly priced. Friendly owner. Picked up some bargains in the dance section. Every provincial record shop should aspire to this standard.

A gem of a music shop. Some good tshirts too. Staff are decent people also friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Have significantly increased my vinyl collection with their help. Interesting mix of vintage and new vinyl as well as some CDs. You never quite know what they'll have in next time you go. Great sense of humour too - the boxes with vinyl albums are a bit high for me but they have offered me a stool to reach the records at the back!

This place is very good. I personally find many independent record shops dotted around the outskirts of London and further afield will predominantly sell used/old vinyl - which does have its place for me! But Empire Records is one of those few and far between that has an impressive selection of new LPs too. I spent over an hour in here (and it initially looks small). Its packed! Particularly impressed with the Hip Hop and Electronic/dance section – There were some LP’s in there that you just don’t ever see on shelves and even difficult to buy online. Good prices, nice dude behind the counter.

Really good shop. Ordering something not in stock is no problem and you get a call to tell you when it us in. Plenty of choice and good to see 12" singles for sale - a favourite of mine. I'd love to see more cassettes though but that is just a personal thing - so many new bands have excellent new releases on cassette and there is Cassette Store Day too.

I really look forward to visiting whenever I can.

I visited this cool shop whilst visiting my friend a few weeks ago. I bought two really good T.Rex singles in their original blue and red sleeves with the iconic image of Marc Bolan and the T.REX logo at the top. Very reasonably priced too. Definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful shop! From the moment you walk in and that record shop smell hits you ( people of a certain age will know what this means) you can spend hours looking through the carefully arranged racks of new and used vynil and the tucked away bargain boxes. The man behind the counter was friendly, not forceful and let's you browse to your hearts content. I picked up 7 albums for £22 and a record cleaner spray and cloth for £8. A very nice shopping experience and I look forward to returning.

Always polite and always greeted with friendship and a comfortable environment to browse. A couple of request would be a section on New Wave and maybe the use of technology in the shop to help find the artist or genre. Make it easy to look up whats in stock and review. Not everyone has the time to find things of want to ask the counter. Best vinyl shop outside london for me. Well done but keep ahead of the tide of new generations of vinyl customers.

A proper records shop with knowledgeable and friendly staff and a great selection of music. Ordered a few vinyls not in stock and reserved ones prior to release and always receive a text or email when they arrive.
