Just been for a 2 night/3 day stay with my wife. Been here a few times before but the last time was before Covid. Saw a few negative reviews recently so thought I'd post here.
In short, we had a lovely stay.
Arrived at 11am expecting our room not to be ready until 4pm, but it was ready straight away - bonus!
The reception staff were nice and helpful and gave us all the info we needed.
The spa area is good with a swimming pool, large jacuzzi, steam, sauna and salt rooms, showers and a plunge pool. The plunge pool wasn't working which was a shame but the showers have an "cold refresh" setting which worked well enough instead. The spa area didn't seem particularly tired or dated to us.
Since our previous visit, the spa area was much busier. When we got there all the poolside beds were taken but people do come and go so you need to keep your eyes peeled for beds coming available - which they do.
The restaurant was fab. We had 2 x breakfasts, 2 x lunches, 2 x dinners, plus an afternoon tea on our last day. All food was nicely presented and tasted great, and there was a good amount of choice. Serving staff were all pleasant and helpful - special shout out to Monica (breakfast and lunch) and Charlotte (dinner) really nice, cheery, and chatty servers.
Some recent reviews have said that the staff were rude etc. but that is not the case now. When we walked into the bar the bar staff greeted us, and even the posse of housekeeping staff all said hello as they passed us in the corridor. I think maybe Lifehouse had some staff/training issues previously but I guess they are all sorted out now.
We will be returning.

A relaxing and fantastic break.
We went for the NYE gala, booked extra treatments and stayed for the 2 whole days due to being able to use the facilities before check in and after check out.
Staff were courteous and attentive without being overbearing.
The NYE set menu was varied and exquisite with portion size being generous. A buffet breakfast was included and was fresh and warm. Lunch the next day was not included but the menu was reasonable with several choices.
The room was clean and spacious enough considering we weren't in it much.
The couples deep tissue massage, facial, and Swedish massage left us feeling spoilt and relaxed, one of the best experiences we've had.
It was good value for money, and we shall definitely be returning again in the summer when we can take a walk in the well maintained grounds.

This is the second time I’ve visited life house. I’ve never felt more relaxed, staff are friendly and helpful. The food is INCREDIBLE. They use local produce and support other business’s too. We noticed our local fish shop on their menu (we’re 40 minutes away) Today my treatments were done by Millie and she was so lovely. Made me feel so relaxed and the treatments are amazing. The other noticeable thing that you don’t always find on previous spa days is the cleanliness. There are constant staff cleaning the facilities, the changing rooms are so clean. You will feel in trusted hands here. Thank you lifehouse x

Such a fabulous place to go to chill out. Our second visit. Couldn't fault a thing. The food in the restaurant was first class. And the staff are so friendly. Can't wait to return. Don't tell too many people tho!!!

Second visit here. This time for Spa, Swim and Supper. But have stayed previously.

Spa facilities are great, but can feel very busy, especially in winter seasons as less people exploring and enjoying the wonderful outdoor spaces. However, the Relaxation Room is a great place to retreat to and I have loved spending time in here on every visit.

Staff are attentive, professional, and polite. Restaurant service was quite slow and it turned out kitchen had overlooked our dessert order, however our waiter was extremely apologetic and resolved quickly.

Visited for the very first time in early December. Reception staff member Daryl was superb and very friendly, making check in easy, also explaining everything about the hotel, and what we could expect from our stay.
Enjoyed Afternoon Cream Tea, and was served by the excellent staff member Lucy. I’d say that both of the above staff members are real assets to the hotel.

Really lovely night away booked through secret escapes at a great rate.

Spa itself was really good, not the biggest though so a few hours there in the afternoon and a quick swim the following morning was plenty. Some other reviews note that it was too busy. When we were using it, it seemed fine. Busy perhaps, but not overly so. This was on a Sunday afternoon/Monday morning.

Restaurant food was fantastic. Setting and grounds were beautiful. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, really amazing.

Room was decent with a lovely view, not the height of luxury perhaps, but still nice. Only thing we would change would be to have air conditioning as it did get very warm on an August night.

Otherwise though it was perfect. Would definitely come back.

Had a very nice stay with my partner last week to celebrate my 30th birthday.
We had a 2 night stay with afternoon tea.
Breakfast was lovely as always, scones and cream is definitely recommended.
Bedroom was okay, only downfall was the bed was abit uncomfortable. The extractor fan didn’t work in the bathroom and no windows to open on ground floor room. Unfortunately it was rather warm!

But the spa, pool and the grounds made up for it and I had a lovely trip and can’t wait to return.

Absolutely wonderful stay, I couldn't fault a single thing. My partner and I arrived Saturday morning and left Sunday just after mid day and had a lovely time.

We booked the couples hidden sanctuary retreat which was lovely.

Upon arrival you're given a locker in the changing rooms to keep your belongings safe whilst changing for the spa/treatments etc. These were spotlessly clean with private changing rooms, toilets, showers and equipped with shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, toner, moisturiser, body wash and hairdryers, straightners and bikini spinner. You're given towels, a robe and complimentary slippers.

We had time alone in the private couples retreat with prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries, a full body scrub, massage, facial and scalp massage which were all phenomenal and done with Elemlis products. We came out just in time for lunch. The food and service was outstanding, especially at dinner time (highly reccoment the steak burger for lunch and chateaubriand at dinner!) The ambiance at dinner was so intimate and romantic.

10/10 to the reiki healer as well, she was amazing and I also saw her on Saturday. Despite it being a weekend the spa facilities weren't too busy at all and the environment was so relaxed and laid back it made for perfect chill time. We enjoyed the sauna and the pool and hot tub. On the Sunday we enjoyed the breakfast and afternoon tea as well as Swedish massage.

Our room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, very large shower with amazing pressure (nice and powerful) and good views of the gardens.

During the duration of our stay, every single member of staff was polite, friendly and helpful and we will definitely be coming back. The only complaint I had was the weather! As it rained so we didn't get to see as much of the beautiful grounds as we would have liked, but the view from our room was lovely.

Thanks for a brilliant stay.

The spa isn’t good …. It’s amazing. I had a garden room, huge with my own seating area overlooking the garden. I came on my own and all the staff have been fabulous so welcoming and really genuine. The restaurant is 5 star outstanding food and service. I’ve had the best stay and cannot recommend it highly enough. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for making my birthday special

Fabulous spa day here yesterday with my friend!
We booked the Summer Glow Spa Day, which included an Elemis pro-glow facial using gift vouchers our husbands had bought us for Christmas.
We arrived at 8.30 and were really pleased with the lovely surroundings. After Coffee in the lounge, we headed off to the gym for a while, followed by a nice walk.
It's very relaxing here, and we enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi and the outdoor sunbeds before our lunch .
Lunch was a lovely healthy meal chosen from the menu . The restaurant was beautiful with lovely furnishing, it was busy and the outside seating area was full. Our meal was included in our package and was very enjoyable.
We thought the garden was absolutely beautiful and enjoyed another walk after lunch . We stopped and talked to the Head Gardener, who was delighted to hear how exceptional and well maintained we thought it was. It's very tranquil, and there's lots of small birds and squirrels!
Our Facials were wonderful. I had Sarah do my treatment, and She was very experienced and advised onskin aftercare. I felt so pampered, and I can definitely recommend this treatment. It's great there is a shop in reception to be able to buy all the Elemis products to take home. There's a very nice quiet room for a nap after your treatment!
Before we went home, we browsed the shop which has some very nice gifts and beautiful skin products . We found Tiffany very helpful on reception and there are very knowledgable staff who will show You products.
We had a wonderful day here, certainly a lovely experience all round!

Great Spa with awesome facilities. Restaurant and treatments available. Our only niggle was the noise during the night 00:30 - 03:00 with the people downstairs having an after party in their room. Obviously nothing to do with Lifehouse but didn't expect that from our stay.

If you are wanting to relax, this is a place for you. So quiet, the gardens are fantastic!
Staff are always smiling, with being extra helpful. The rooms had a beautiful view, and were spacious.
Food tasted great.

Absolutely amazing place. Went here for a spa day for two, and it was the most relaxing place. The facilities are wonderful, they have plenty of relaxation and sauna type rooms. The only downside to the visit was that one of the pools were closed on the day, however they phoned beforehand to let us know, I'm assuming so that we could rearrange if we had wanted to, so we didn't mind.I bought this as a present for my sister, and I know that we will definitely be back at some point!

Had a lovely overnight stay with my friend from OZ, was so relaxing and tranquil. I had a Grown Alchemist facial with Leah which was amazing, skin like silk.
Our room was lovely over looking garden and 1 of the lakes, Then had back massage with Natasha, which again was lovely, a nice firm pressure which I asked for🤗🤗
Breakfast and lunches were lovely, plenty of choice, and good size portions.
Cocktails were gorgeous, as well as the none alcoholic ginger spritz. So refreshing.
It was just what I needed after losing my husband in March.
I feel amazing so thank you everyone at the life house

Had a lovely night's stay with my daughter. The grounds are a real plus with interesting plants and a lake and when we went - mid-week in July - the spa wasn't too busy so thoroughly relaxing. There were 2 different steam rooms, sauna, a large jacuzzi and decent pool. We had a spacious twin room which was laid out to give us maximum privacy. We had breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea. All good but also it's only around 10 mins drive to Frinton-on-Sea if you wanted a change of scene. I've already booked 2 nights for a return visit!

Amazing spa package. The room was lovely and had a garden view. We had a full body massage which was amazing and relaxing. Spa facilities are lovely and you can use them on the day of arrival and also day of check out. The food here is great - we had 3 course dinner included and it was delicious. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The grounds are beautiful for a walk.
