The Regal

Larger than your usual Wetherspoons as I believe it used to be a cinema. Quick lunch from the Curry Club. Service fast and courteous, food was good. The beef madras wasn't as hot as expected, just a tingle. But good none the less.

Another lovely Wetherspoons.. (and surprisingly the only one in Cambridge City)

It stills has the Cinema feel, and plenty of information within detailing historical facts. There is a big screen (previously watched the Grand National) which is fab.

Be warned.. it can get very busy and extremely loud on football match days. We wondered why there was such a huge Police presence. Whilst it was busy and loud, there was no trouble, just a fun atmosphere.

On non football match days we have found it to be rather busy on all visits, albeit we have always found a table.

There are a variety of seating areas within and an outside area too. If sat on the lower tier, it helps if the fire door is kept closed, as when open the smell of smoking wafts in.

Whilst prices have increased, the drinks are still cheaper than other places.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and approachable.. it is rather welcoming.

When in Cambridge, this is always a place we return, and we will continue to do so.

I enjoyed my visit yesterday, had lemon herb chicken with mash, gravy and coleslaw salad and mayo and had a pint of San Miguel beer as part of the meal offer. Paid £14 as I had extra gravy.

Amazing place. Loved the Fish and Chips. Best in Cambridge. Have been visiting regularly. Loving this place like no other.

Great place with good food, the staff were very friendly, the food came quite fast and hot and the portions were quite larg, and it was way cheaper than most of restaurants, and you had a lot of options to choose from the menu. Definitely worth eating here

We had a company outing to Cambridge this month and made a reservation with this pub for lunch. We were really impressed by how well our reservation was handled, since we were approx. 90 people! The staff were very kind and organised and the food was brought out very quick. I definitely recommend this pub, especially for large group bookings.

Service was quick and efficient. Food arrived quickly. Overall seamless service and experience. Standard layout and seatings across the chain. Well located on the high street and easily accessible. Would recommend for a casual meal and drinks.

Oh my god I ordered food on my phone which meant I could stay sat down. Will do again!
Fast service on drinks and food. Good price! Had dessert which was amazing.

Cheap prices (2.59 a pint for IPA), brilliant burger, great atmosphere, varied clientele of all ages and walks of life ... Best of all are the staff. I saw one of their people assisting a vulnerable and upset customer with grace and tenderness not often seen anywhere these days, and never in busy pubs in my experience. The award-winning toilets are spotless and elegant. Coffee for 1.50 with endless free refills. Simply the best.

Nice pub quick service. It is busy so you may have to wait for a table. But a nice pub for food and drink.

Wetherspoon alway deliver good meals while we visit in different cities in U.K.

We love the beer or alcohol or tea or coffee included in the meal.

All in all I really think you are unable to beat Spoons for excellent value.
The staff were helpful and cheerful, my curry was great and wife’s scampi was good , sadly was disappointed when our pancake orders were cancelled after order accepted as non available.
I normally would have given 5 stars but our table and chairs were a bit grubby.
An excellent Curry , fine scampi and chips, glass Chardonnay and a pint of Adams for 20 quid well…,, actually I am going to change stars back to 5

I only give atmosphere a 3 because it's a large spoons & there are lots of people! But apart from that, clean, tidy, food is good, staff are nice, service is quick & toilets are looked after.

Went into The Regal as we haven't visited before. We chose a table upstairs as it was busy downstairs and were relieved when we found you could order food at the bar upstairs .Ordered Scampi and Chicken
Tikka curry with drinks .The staff were really pleasant and helpful and the meal was very tasty .What more could you ask.

I’ve never been such crowded place in Cambridge. A bunch of people everywhere although the place is so big. Always a long queue to buy some drink and not so easy to find a place to sit. Still it is recommended to have fun by drinking cheaper than most places in Cambridge and live the atmosphere with your friends.

Lovely pub, great food and service. Shame the young manager behind the bar was rude to her staff in front of customers. Probably trying to make herself look good, but had the opposite effect. I felt sorry for the staff she was verbally abusing.

We went when the rugby was on so it was very busy, we didn't have to wait long for our food which was hot and delicious . The atmosphere is friendly, the beer was good so I've nothing bad to say about my experience

Big place with plenty of seating and good Covid measures in place (eg screens between the high tables). As ever, the standard offering of good value food and drink. The steak was very good and tender.
