Beautiful place to explore the art and antiquities. Plenty of rooms to explore and learn more about art and world history. Have lovely cafe place too and if you would love to get souvenirs they have shop for that too. Easy access to toilets. Definitely a must see place when visiting Cambridge.

It was such a beautiful experience at the Fitzwilliam Museum. Although most of the art works are appreciated by just viewing and not touching, they’re still worth viewing. The entire museum is really big and the facilities are also good. It’s a very picturesque place, has a disability entrance as well. There’s also a table with supplies to draw and paint. Helpful assistants as well. We appreciated the moment.

Most impressive entrance hall. Vast collection of very cool items. Love the Egyptian rooms and the Armour section. Very good cafe and gift shop. Bus stops right outside.

Excellent museum. Free entry to permanent exhibitions. Or did I walk in unnoticed? Grand building. Parking nearby not cheap but worth a visit or several. Lots of pottery and trinkets but some great art. Handy cafe. Affable varied staff appear everywhere. Blake exhibition to pay to see at this time. But had to pick up someone at Cambridge North.

One of the best museums in Cambridge.
The entrance architecture is stunning as it is inspired by ancient Greek temples.
Lots of paintings, historical weapons, statues, and objects.
The entrance is free of charge and you get to see a lot of things, a must-stop when visiting Cambridge.

The museum was stunning with fascinating exhibits. Its aesthetics were simply amazing, and it felt like stepping into another world. However, its small size limited the number of displays and I felt a little bit constrained. It's absolutely worth a visit for its beauty but expect a short tour due to limited content. Watch the ceiling 😍

Don't miss this place if you visit Cambridge , you could easily spend a whole day or more wandering around the exhibits. For me the only negative was the cafe, the coffee was half froth and while the scone was excellent it was delivered with some hobble fake wiped cream

A great museum with free entrance, what can be better? Here you can find collections from ancient Egypt, Soudan, India, Greece, Roman Empire, etc. as well as more modern art works from around the world. It's truly amazing that all these things fit in a rather compact museum.

One of the must visit places in Cambridge!
It is like a small version of the British Museum but less crowded, so you can feel free to explore around and admire all the exhibitions here.
Better expected spending 1-2hrs to visit here

Great museum! You don't have to go to London or Egypt to see mummy. Open and free, however for temporary exhibitions you need to book entry tickets online. I totally recommend it!

Of all the museums that we visited in Cambridge, the Fitzwilliam is one of the best. It has an extensive and varied collection and it is highly recommend to visit for a couple of hours. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Entrance is free.

Lovely well maintained museum. Plenty to see. Cafe was average price but delicious cakes and coffee. Toilets on site were clean. Well done Fitzwilliam museum. If in Cambridge, you must take time to visit, and it's free entry.

Great museum, really fascinating array of things on display, there's really something for everyone. The building's architecture is also gorgeous and there's a lot to see just by looking up.

I've visited the Fitzwilliam many times (I grew up in Cambridge) and it never fails to inspire, educate and delight me. My most recent visit was to view the William Blake exhibition. You may not necessarily enjoy the work on display, but the settings in which the works are displayed are always engaging using coloured walls and 'viewing holes' and other devices to bring a different perspective or dimension to the work. The Blake exhibition was quite popular and somewhat busy, but still pleasant to walk through.
The rest of the museum holds a fantastic and diverse range of exhibits with something to interest almost anyone. My list of favourite items continues to include a 'grandfather' clock, not because it's exceptionally beautiful (it is), but because you can gently place your ear on its case and listen to the mechanism inside reeling in the future. Whether you are an history buff, into design, engineering, art, coins, ceramics or just how things are created and made, it's a fabulous place to visit and if you're not into the exhibits then take in the architecture. If none of that appeals then the gift shop contains a lovely range of items (hunting for a gift for that difficult to buy for person?) from practical to purely decorative and the café next door serves great coffee along with lots of other drinks, snacks and meals.
I will continue to be drawn back to the Fitzwilliam and will continue to find new and exciting every time. As far as value for money goes, it definitely is! You pay what you want to enter. It is with booking for the exhibitions so that you know you'll be able to get in, but you can rock up when you like to see the permanent displays.
I am a lifelong devotee and wish I still lived in Cambridge so I could visit more easily.

The museum is stunning, with classic-style interior architecture. The Middle East section is perfect, showcasing incredible ancient artwork masterpieces. The sculpture by Reza Aramesh is amazing, and at first, it freaked me out because the eyes look so real.

An enormous range of artworks, some especially famous ones such as Monet's. Great selection of flower still lifes, along with religious artworks. Art is sorted by country of origin. There is a gigantic collection of ceramics, varying in age. The gift shop is large and quite good, there is also a café.
