For a lot of years I’ve driven past this pub and been told about the exceptional food so last night I thought I would give it a try…it’s a very old pub from the 17th century with a thatched roof in a beautiful village called Hemingford abbots.when you walk in it feels like you’ve gone back in time, the service was a little slow but the staff was very friendly, eventually we got our drinks and food,I had the fish and chips with peas and tarts sauce, the fish was beautiful with homemade chunky chips my daughter had the same my wife had the steak with peppercorn sauce chips peas and mushrooms and my son just had a portion of chunky chips..it’s lovely to see proper home cooking…4 people plus around of drinks came to roughly £80,you might think it’s a little expensive but for home cooking in such a beautiful pub it was worth it…

A great village pub with good food and beers. Service was excellent and the food was very good. It is a busy pub with lots of atmosphere and activities so not for someone who wants to have a quiet chat! We had a great time.

Lovely pub with a massive outdoor space. The place is also dog friendly and the service is very good.

Given this was a sunny Bank Holiday during COVID and the last day of Eat Out to Help Out, they we’re very well prepared and performed really well.
Fast, efficient service and a very good standard of pub food. Lovely to see use of biodegradable plates and cutlery too. Staff were polite and friendly.
Their mobile ordering system wasn’t working sadly, the beer garden also just needed a bit of a litter pick due to the odd crisp packet and beer mat finding its way onto the grass.
Very hard to give less than 5 stars given quality of food and service on an incredibly busy shift! Thank you!

Lovely meal and dogs very welcome. We sat on the very lovely garden area but we would have been very welcome inside with our 5 dogs between the two of us

Staying locally for the night and thought we'd try one of the local pub restaurants we could walk too. The A&C was well worth the walk. Lovely dining area, good service and very nice food. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again when next in the area.

Used the pub as our start / finish point on the St Ives 6 mile circular loop. Arrived back at 3.45pm just in time for last orders for Sunday lunch. Fantastic food and friendly service.

Amazing! We went for Sunday lunch, it was without doubt the tastiest roast dinner I've ever had in a restaurant/pub. Highly recommended lovely staff, atmosphere and building.
