Such a great welcome from James & his family. Unfortunately it was raining a lot & the walk into Hay on Wye was fabulous but very wet. Definitely will go back but please let the sun shine next time. Toilet & washing facilities were spotless👍

I echo the praise from others here but wanted to mention the brilliant bike route to Hay from here.
You can cycle about 200m along the road then turn left onto the most beautiful single track road. Admittedly better on an electric bikes this then is a very safe route to just before the bridge into Hay on Wye. Photos attached!
We found James really easy to deal with, helpful and thoughtful. The pitches for vans are cut into the hill so are pretty flat.
The walk along to town is also beautiful, following the Offa's Dyke path. The site is well kept in a fabulous location and the facilities are clean and tidy.

Excellent site. Friendly owners. Nice well sign posted walk to Hay. Great showers (lots of space). All spotlessly clean. Site well manicured and the view…. Wow… what a view!

We stayed here for four nights in early august. The booking process was simple, a few texts back and forth and a small deposit made it very easy.

The access to the site was sizeable, a nice wide gate and tarmac drive down onto the site was simple to navigate in our caravan. James (the owner) was there to welcome us and assisted us on to our pitch, helping to level us. It was certainly a more personable approach than I'd had before.

The campsite itself only has 30 pitches and 10 of those are in the camping field. The pitches for camper vans/caravans are sizeable, plenty of space for the largest of awnings. Every pitch has a view over to the black mountains (hence the name).

Electricity and water are close to every pitch. The toilet block is simple, new and exceptionally clean.

Location wise it is perfect for Hay, a 45 min walk, 15 min cycle or 5 minute drive.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we found ourselves in the area.

Stayed here in the motorhome for three nights with the wife, teen son and dog. Easy to find and very personal welcome from James on arrival. Site is small, with spotlessly clean facilities. It's an easy, well signposted walk into Hay-on-Wye - about 35 minutes. Water available between every 2-3 pitches - James has a hose available if you don’t. Peaceful stay - the wife has already booked again for her Literary Festival visit next year. Would recommend.

Just pulled in to this wonderful site and greeted by James, the site owner. What a lovely welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and made to feel really at home. We are given a tour of the site and a review of a map of a walk to Hay on wye. Only been here for a couple of hours and already planning our next visit!

Stayed a couple of nights here. Beautifully maintained site. A lovely walk about 3/4 hour along offas dyke from Hay which is an amazing quirky town, if you like books and antiques you will fall in love with it. The caravan was spotless and more than adequate and would fit a 4 person family no problem. James met us and made sure all our needs were sorted. We will be back. Photos are some of the views along the short walk.

Enjoyed our stay at this lovely site, about a 45 minute walk along the river to Hay on Wye. Facilities were well maintained, showers hot, everywhere spotlessly clean and good value for money. James was the perfect host, always ready to give help and advice. Highly recommended.

A camp site that will draw you back. James the owner is very attentive and helpful, he keeps the site immaculate. The toilet and shower block were some of the very best we have seen. The walks especially if you are a dog owner are great. I don't usually give reviews but felt that this site deserves as good as one as I can give.

Beautiful, small but immaculate site. We chose a grass pitch with EHU but hard standings with own water also available. Water, waste disposal etc all close to our pitch. Very good free wifi. New and spotlessly clean toilet block with excellent showers. Great welcome from James who helped us get caravan in position and level. Fabulous views of Black Mountains and saw Red Kites over site several times. Great walk from site to Offa's Dyke path, River Wye and on to Hay-on-Wye. Good access off road but there was quite a lot of traffic noise.

Fabulous campsite with immaculate facilities. Good location. Took a touring caravan and some of our party stayed in the static caravan which was well equipped and clean. Friendly welcome from James, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him. Would definitely recommend and go back.

Breathtaking views, lovely clean site, the showers and toilet facility is 'top notch'. Although it's situated close to the road it's not intrusive.
We had a really nice large patch to park our caravan and mini bus. The owner is very friendly, approachable and helpful. We'll most definitely return. We'd like to say thankyou for letting us stay.

What a well kept and organised camp site. James gave us a warm welcome and was really helpful with directions for a walk, borrowing chairs and table if we needed them and showing us around. The toilet block is new and spotlessly clean. Lovely warm showers. Plots are spacious and flat. Views over the black mountains amazing. We will definitely return. Thank you James.

Beautiful site, lovely owner, immaculate facilities. We stayed over bank holiday weekend in a tent with electric hookup. James, the owner was very welcoming on arrival, showing us all the facilities before walking us down to our pitch. Toilets, shower block and washing up facilities are immaculate with covid measures in place. We have been camping for years and visited many sites and this is without doubt the best kept, best run and cleanest site Iwe have stayed at. Beautiful views of the black mountains and a 45 minute walk in parts along the banks of the River Wye into Hay on Wye a beautiful town with lovely shops and plenty of places to eat and drink. We will definitely return

One of the best campsites I’ve been on. The views are breathtaking, facilities are clean, the walk into Hay on Wye was absolutely beautiful from the caravan park. Hay on Wye everything I expected and more. The nature, countryside and town itself stunning. Lady who greeted us at the park was extremely helpful and could not do enough for us. Will definitely be back again. Thank you
