We called in for lunch last week after being recommended by a friend. We were really impressed with how fresh and full of flavour both our meals were. Service was prompt and helpful. The building was clean and cool on a hot day. Many thanks to the chef for leaving the onion off my greek salad. Much appreciated 🙏

From outside this pub it looks small but inside is perfectly formed, as is the service and atmosphere. Our first visit we walked into the quiz which was very busy and alot of teams taking part. Our second visit was a lovely lunch and our third was an amazing Sunday Roast Sharer with a bottle of wine included. Big thanks to Rachael for taking care of us.

First visit to Parkgate and lunch enjoyed here at the Red Lion.
Pleasant snd friendly staff.
Food was delicious. We had small plates of Pie & chips and burger & chips which were ample at £8.95 each.
Looking at other peoples choices of Light Bites - these were plentiful - 3 plates for £15 enough for 2 persons.
Our dog was welcomed with a bowl of water and a few treats.
Would visit again and recommend

Great day out to Parkgate with a dog walk and fish and chips. Hadn't been here for ages so popped in for a pint or two. Really nice decor, dog welcoming and comfortable. Would happily come again for a drink, a dog biscuit and a cheeky game of cards

Popped in for a drink and food on a dull grey afternoon. Pub was busy and we selected a selection of small plates which arrived after a short wait. Food was delicious and good value, the Staff were very friendly and there was a lovely buzz about the place. We will definitely return. We spoke with the Manager and he said the menu changes a every couple of months.

The Sunday roast Food Board option for two is good value for £24.99. we had selection of beef, turkey and ham. The beef brisket was tender and soft. For two of us we only paid £30 for food and drinks.

Would recommend it here. they are nice and chatty with us the staff. We went for a late lunch. And it wasn’t that busy and that was what we are looking for. Delicious food. Can’t recommend the Sunday lunch enough, it was excellent ! Everything was perfect and we were a large group. Three different meats, roasties, mash, veggies and the choice of side dishes was an added treat ! Cauliflower cheese was delicious and yorkies too ! Service was awesome and a great atmosphere ! Friendly and great value for money. Thanks to John and his team for being so welcoming.

I haven't been here in a good few years -especially since the 'refurb' as I live in the South. I had to do a double take as it is so clean, bright and fresh. Wow 👌 Friendly and welcoming and great value. Awesome 👍 Thank you

Been going to the red lion on and off over the years when we visit parkgate .read recently been refurbished, called in today 14 aug 2022 , pleasantly surprised the refurb really nice , greeted by the landlord , the decor really nice ,to me the best is the beer garden really good and a great little hideaway , definitely worth a visit the views from the bar and eating area are spectacular specially on a warm day like today , the two ladies serving really nice ,you can sit outside at front and just watch the world go by , we had sandwiches and chips , they do fries but the chunky chips well better , the menu and prices are really good and vfm

Originally just a pub but now under good management serves home cooked food with a wide choice on the menu , we had a Sunday sharing platter so much food and for £20 you can't go wrong so make sure your hungry if you decide on it .
All the staff are keen and happy to help the manager is also a really nice guy and would do anything to keep his customers happy which is nice and the building in general is very clean and well presented .
The pub has a good choice of ales as well so it gets 10/10 for me but then I'm easy to please if you sell a good pint 😀 , overall a great place to eat and drink and definitely worth your time visiting .

We went here for lunch, today. I've walked past this pub many times but I've never been in but on the recommendation of my mum we booked a table. I'm so glad we did as this is one of the nicest pubs I've ever been to. The actual pub itself is a quaint, beautifully decorated building. We sat in the window and I think we had the best table as the view at Parkgate is so interesting. The food choices were excellent; plenty for me as a vegetarian, and everybody in our party was happy, even the extremely fussy 12 year old. I ordered from the light plates tapas menu and everything I ate was delicious. Especially the cauliflower wings. My son had not one, but 2 portions of the BBQ ribs and he said they were the best. The staff were so friendly and helpful and were happy to ensure that anything resembling a vegetable was not added the fussy 12 year old's food. First class service!
I can't believe we haven't been here before but we will definitely be back again soon.
