The staff were so helpful in the planning of my Mum’s wake.
Everything was perfect, the afternoon tea was gorgeous. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully laid out and perfect for such a function.
Family stayed there and were very pleased with the rooms.
We were all able to have breakfast together the next day and what a delicious breakfast it was.My husband always gauges the breakfast on the quality of the sausage and he was not disappointed!
Many thanks to Lucy and her staff such a lovely place

This place is a lovely hotel/pub. We booked this going from Cornwall to Stonehenge as a stopover. The room was quaint and nicely turned out, clean and tidy. The shower wasn’t the best, distinct lack of pressure but we were on the third floor so that’s always a problem.

Decent pints and wine to go with friendly service.

They offer a breakfast with the room which being plant based and gluten free we were sceptical, but they really delivered. Provided us with gluten free bread and a nice cooked breakfast. Really aware and sensitive to allergies and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Really is a well run and delightful place to stay.

Thanks guys for sorting the food out, it’s usually a challenge to feed us but you guys were great. 👍

Interesting historic hotel, in a good location. Resident parking at the rear. Helpful and friendly staff;
Rooms spotlessly clean, a bit dated but that is part of the charm and character, prefer this to slick homogeneous interiors. Even had a tiny fireplace in our room. Loved the wallpaper.
Kettle coffee/tea supplied in room.
Delicious breakfast, did not dine in but the menu looked interesting.
Only minus was that the step down out of the bath in room 16 wasn’t easy, would be difficult for people with mobility/balance problems.

I booked a table for 10 here recently and I cannot fault the staff and service we recieved. From booking I Wass met with friendly service and emailed across our pre order. They made place cards with everyone's options and put us in our own room.

Constantly checking in and exceptionally fast service start to finish.

Thank you so much

Had a meal here so can’t comment on the rooms. Food was delicious and served swiftly thanks to pre-ordering from the Xmas menu in advance. A nice atmosphere with good decor. Staff were very polite and friendly. Recommended.

Very nice and tidy rooms; the only downside I can mention is the bed seemed quite firm. Otherwise it was very lovely! A fan is provided and the sash windows work properly, always a bonus when it's warm. Dinner and breakfast are very nice as well with many options. Beer garden at the back is behind the building so away from traffic. Off street parking for guests with some spots available on the main street. Lots of space for various functions too.

Lovely pub, restaurant run by great staff and managers.
Great and interesting menu. Good wine menu. Seared calf liver is delicious. Really nice cooked breakfast.
Only dropped rooms by one star as is a little noisy from traffic but after a decent meal with wine I didn't care!!
Well done all.

We really liked it here. Had dinner on a Monday night while passing through and the food was very good. Service from Sabrina was prompt and efficient and made everything go smoothly. I stupidly left behind a jumper that after a quick phone call was arranged to be posted back to me. Really appreciated that and shows they care too. Highly recommended.

Just been in here tonight and had an absolutely fantastic evening. The staff we dealt with were wonderful, the food was delicious and is a wonderful place for a special occasion. Considering what we had, it was very reasonably priced and we will be back. Thank you all.

Well what can I say, I held my wedding reception here this week and after been let down not once but twice before by other venues the staff at the Ilchester Arms were just fantastic, they were extremely accommodating, reassuring me everything was being dealt with when I got any sort of worries. very flexible when I changed things around a little.

I can't recommend The Ilchester Arms enough on the night the staff were friendly and helpful and took things at our pace there wasn't any rush to do things like speeches or the first dance it was really chilled and just a completely wonderful evening. All staff members were very tolerable of my son who has special needs without any prior warning to them at all helping tie his shoelace and dancing with him and completely accepting of his screaming without so much as a complaint.

My new husband and I stayed the night along with some of our family and friends and not a bad word was said in the morning about anything everyone was very pleased with their rooms. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were clean and bright.

The food was honestly to die for and also some specially prepared for a child with a dairy allergy everyone told us how tasty the food was and breakfast in the morning was also incredible.

Also flexible after a friend of ours broke his knee the night before and they asked to move rooms which was no bother to the staff at all.

The Ilchester Arms is definitely and highly recommended by us and our family and friends.

thank you so much to all of the staff for making our night one to remember will definitely come back.

We stayed at this hotel, was a last minute booking as we were attending a wedding and didn't want to drive 3 n half hours back, luckily there was a cancellation and we had a lovely room in the loft. What a beautiful room it was. Amy was lovely, she helped me, showed me how the open the doors at night as we were finishing very late. Breakfast was amazing and delicious which was included.
I absolutely recommend this lovely place and I thank Amy for her lovely hospitality.

I stayed here for two weeks while on a conference. Check in was quick and easy. They asked when I would like breakfast and noted it. They handed me the keys to the room and information about WiFi and the hotel. The room was nice with a desk and a smart TV which allowed me to connect to my Netflix, which was definitely appreciated. The room had radiators which could be turned down/up which gave me control of the temperature of the room. The bed was very comfortable and allowed for brilliant nights sleep. The shower was not the most powerful but got the job done, the en suit was a little small but not terrible and so I do not look at is as a negative. The breakfasts were delicious and flexible, they ask you what you would like and how you would like them cooked and never took long to come out, the portions were decent too. The restaurant dinners in the evenings were excellent! The food was some of the best I've ever had and not too expensive. Overall I had an absolutely fantastic time staying here and would highly recommend it! If you like friendly staff and a comfortable nights sleep then look no further, the Ilchester Arms is the hotel for you!
