The Sheppey

Came for lunch here in early July. The food was exceptional. I had the fish and chips and it was one of the best fish I’d had outside of the north east. The two people I was with also had wonderful meals.
The staff were friendly and welcoming - especially to my dog! Service was great and the location and setting is beautiful.
The pub is really quirky and funky - I absolutely loved it.
Well worth a stop off.

I didn't stay here so I am not able to rate the rooms.
I did have a beautiful lunch sitting by the little river in the sunshine, watching the damsel flies and little fish swim, and listening to the birds chirp. Location was heavenly. The waitress working had a lovely, chatty friendly manner - the food was delicious I had the battered fish and chips (huge portion couldn't finish it).
Really enjoyable experience.

Blink and you miss this place, it doesn't look much at all from the outside but inside is like a Tardis and the back bit has the nicest veranda which runs alongside the stream which has lots of Fish and dancing Dragonflies. The manageress and Jen were really really lovely, the food although a touch expensive was definitely worth paying extra for as all cooked fresh and delicious, my husband and daughter had the Ribeye steak and he said it was the best pub steak he had ever had! I had the Jackfruit " Fish" and chips and it was equally as lovely, chips freshly cooked and not greasy, local beers and ciders. Didn't have room for pudding but would go back just for that and to watch the sun setting on the veranda! Thank you so much 💖

Easy 5 stars, incredibly beautiful place set in nature but with a cool vibe. Food and service were brilliant but worth checking out for the venue alone.

Best place I have eaten in the last year

We stopped here twice whilst out on bike rides with friends and our dogs.....in trailers attached to bikes.
Really great pub. We only had drinks but the food looked good.
All staff were really welcoming and friendly.
The tables outside overlooking the river are really nice.

Had a really great meal on recommendation of friends. We often visit Wedmore for walks and a meal out. So we ventured to Godney instead and it was well worth it! Amazing food and location right next to a little steam which you can sit and overlook. Really inventive menu with some great dishes. Kids had a brilliant time seeing all the old vintage toys. Really lovely friendly staff. We are coming back ❤

This is a fantastic pub. Ben and Tamsin are so welcoming and friendly, and the burger is the best I have ever had - great value for money. The location on the Levels is great too. Try to get there every week if possible - just to savour the burger. What a really lovely place, with great staff - capped by the warmth and welcoming of mine hosts. Lovely, lovely people.

Came here for dinner. Absolutely loved it. Jake our server was very sweet and took the time to explain everything to us. It left us with a pleasant and delicious dining experience ❤

Delicious food and friendly service. I have an unusual food intolerance and the staff took the time and trouble to ensure that what I had ordered was ok for me to eat, substituting some items. I have never had that amount of understanding before, ever! Food was fresh and delicious! My grateful thanks to all the staff, both front of house and in the kitchen! x

Bigger inside than it look, lovely waterside seating. Smallish but good quality, tasty menu. Excellent service

Amazing service from very friendly staff. Great menu with lots of vegan choices, even told me which beers were vegan. Highly recommend The Sheppey. Will definitely be going back.

We stayed over this time, the room was quality and such a peaceful sleep in this rural Somerset location.

We had the pleasure of visiting The Sheppey Inn whilst staying in Wells. We visited on a Wednesday evening and had such a lovely meal. The food was absolutely delicious - I had the tuna steak for starter, venison for main and sticky toffee for pudding - I recommend all three!

We also had a wonderful waiter called Jake who was very attentive and provided fantastic service. If we are in the area again, we'd definitely return!

Hands down the best roast dinner I've eaten this year. Great food, great cocktails, staff amazing and what a cracking little country pub. Highly recommend 👌

A beautiful English country pub. With authentic local ciders, a lovely menu and friendly helpful happy staff. I look forward to returning to this stunning location and its stunning views across the Somerset levels.

Highly recommend! The burger is excellent, and staffs are very friendly, we also enjoy the live music after dinner!
