I visited today and asked for advice on what spices to get and ended up getting a full on cooking class advice session from the store owner, a lovely man who adores cooking and was kind enough to spend so much time sharing his wisdom with me. This is genuinely the place to go for your culinary needs in Cambridge especially Indian food, herbs and spices. I cannot recommend this place enough and hope more people support this independent business- truly this was the best most personal and useful customer service I’ve ever received. Thank you again!

I was there 3 days ago, visited the shop and found out they have a vast variety of European, middle eastern and American products.. was very happy with the gentleman on the till was very nice and provided great service they provided at the butchers and at the till. Overall very happy with the shopping experience at this place. Will be making this my regular grocery shop.

I went on this shop last tuesday. I went many other shops looking for a particular item and i haven't got it but got it from this supermarket. The buctchery is good and the staffs are so polite. I'm very happy.

I’ve really benefited from the family run business starting up a delivery service from the first lockdown.. it was a life saver..& I continue to have deliveries even after lockdown was over.

They really take care to make sure you get what you ask for.. I get calls to check my personal preferences or if I’d like an alternative if something in my order isn’t available.

I discovered this wonderful shop today and was presently surprised at the range of products they offer. The young gentleman on the till was very friendly and helpful.

I shop here frequently and it has always been a very positive experience. The range of products is fantastic - it’s the only place in Cambridge that you can get some things. The staff are always polite, friendly, helpful and efficient. I would say the prices are very competitive especially for a “corner shop” by which I mean a local independent store. I have never been overcharged - in fact on a few occasions I’ve been given an unsolicited discount because the product was near its BB date or the packaging was slightly damaged. I find it difficult to believe reports of customers being overcharged.

My only disappointment is the continued use of plastic bags (especially flimsy single-use ones) but this goes for many other shops, and of course we customers/consumers must take responsibility for remembering to bring our own bags. I would like our lovely vibrant diverse area to declare itself a plastic-bag-free zone (at least the issuing thereof) but I know this is not quite the place for this rant 😉

Polite staff who are very accommodating and offer a fantastic service. Great variety at this store, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables at very competitive prices. They have a great butcher section and sell excellent curries. Can’t wait to visit again 👌

A fantastic store with great people who offer great products. Often come here for Mountain Dew - (The original ones, not the nasty British ones). Always happy to see the people there and always happy to see the Owner-Manager, Mr. Arain, great guy. This store is great for things which cannot be found elsewhere within the local vicinity.

Best shop in Cambridge. No doubt. As close as it gets to the whole world in one shop. Can even get numbered candles! Top fresh veg, full range of flours. Pre cooked authentic food to go. Pick and mix lindt chocolates!

The selection of international fresh food, cupboard staples and spices in this treasure trove is fantastic. I always head here to top up on chick pea flour and if i need any fruit or veg I can't get in Asda. The staff are friendly especially the lady they respectfully call 'Aunty' who sells delicious homemade samosas. And the lady at the till normally strikes up a friendly conversation. A great place to head to if you have a chocolate craving too as they sell a wide range of different brands! A well-stocked and well-run asset to Mill Road. I just miss their post office service.

Excellent shop. Please support this gem of a shop. Staff and excellent and friendly. Excellent range of products. Interesting stuff thst it normally hard to get hold of. I will be returning.

Not a review of the shop but the staff. They found my daughters phone that she had lost and went well above and beyond to see it returned to her, so wonderful people!

Very great experience shopping here! The shop is organised perfectly to help find anything, the staff are amazing and help assist you to have a quick and efficient shopping trip. Overall, i would definitely come back regularly and would recommend my friends to aswell.

Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Great selection of world foods including fresh & tasty samosas and falafels. Would be nice to have a costa coffee machine. It would go nice with my veg samosa at lunch!

A* service. Ample choices of food products. We order our halal meat from here. It’s clean, fresh with lots of choices - we wouldn’t order from anywhere else. The staff are very professional and helpful. 100% recommend!

Fantastic quality fruit and vegetables. Great halal butchery with a mixture of spiced and non sliced cuts. A fantastic variety of everything from masalas, rice, lentils, breads to frozen foods and dairy. Pickles, jams... You name it Alamein has it. But most of all a kind thoughtfull and helpful owner! The gentlemen at the till, butchery and in the store are always thoughtful and helpful. For us living in Cambridge, Al Amin is a treasure! It's just a great store.
