My first eye surgery treatment at Mount Alvernia Hospital Guildford under the care of Mr Mike Tappin (19.02.24)

On arrival , I was taken upstair by a lovely nurse who took care of my registration form & had a bit of a chat about other things ..then into the ward & look after by a caring nurse Johnna , I was nervous naturally but reassured that I will be comfortable . Then I was given sedation tablet by another friendly staff.

Theatre staff were professional & caring , I was well look after and Mr Tappin did a wonderful job ..told me during the procedures exactly what’s happening & feeling reassured . Also impressed with the new technology .

Hope my next surgery will go smoothly like this one .

So thank you to all the staff at Mount Alvernia Hospital Guildford . Highly recommend this hospital .

Second surgery daycare / 4th March 2024
As I expected , my second surgery was pleasant experience as the first one.

The care I received from hospital team was amazing !! Thank you all theatre staff for looking after me wonderfully during the surgery ,

I had a room this time for a daycare & it was clean & like the privacy, so I don’t have to go out to use the outside toilet . Won’t hesitate to use this hospital again in the future .

The care from the team was absolutely amazing during my stays there. Just want to highlight Margaret in particular who was my angel and made me feel reassured, safe and we had quite a laugh throughout the day. 1st class experience - nothing to fault at all

I went in for spinal surgery and was obviously anxious. The whole experience was great. At every stage I was treated with dignity and respect and kept well informed. Everyone involved was kind and friendly.

I have been having Physio for 3 years with Diane Calvario and she has saved my ability to walk. She is a genius and is warm, friendly and explains everything very clearly. She has changed my life for the better. Without Di's experience and knowledge, I would still be in a wheel chair.

My experience at Alvernia was exceptional. The logistics and nursing was great the food was great quality. The procedure went more easily and comfortably than I had ever expected. Very impressed at all levels.

Had a wonderful experience! Been coming here for about 3-4 months now for physio treatment for my knees and Jané is wonderful. A truly knowledgeable professional who knows how to speak to her patients and keep them motivated! Always had a pleasant experience and should I need to go any more, I am definitely going woth Mount Alvernia!

Everything about my experience at Mt Alvernia Hospital was first class. All the nursing staff were brilliant - very professional, caring and thorough. Nothing was too much trouble. The hospital was spotless.

I want to share my experience at Mount Alvernia hospital. I have been cared for by sister Daniela who has been truly first class in every aspect of my care. She is caring and knowledgeable and took very good care of my wound. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I have been having physio with Nisha since may of last year. We started with a rotator cuff problem which we where dealing with quite nicely but unfortunately we then got a frozen shoulder.
Have had X-rays plus ultra sound. Although the shoulder feels a lot better it still gives me pain at night & when I play golf. Have recently had a MRI scan. Now waiting to see the consultant.
I would like to thank Nisha for all the physio and help she has given myself.
She was always very pleasant and explained everything to myself.

I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the staff and my treatment. They were all very friendly and helpful and the surgeon did an incredible job. I would highly recommend to anybody requiring the same treatment.

All the staff were polite, friendly, reassuring and helpful. I was told clearly what would be happening and staff checked with me that I was comfortable at every stage. Everywhere was clean and bright and the atmosphere was professional yet relaxed.

Had a caudal epidural at this hospital yesterday. The care and attention that I was given from start to finish was exceptional. All staff, from reception, catering to nurses and theatre were wonderful. So kind and genuinely caring. Have been to this hospital 3 times now and would absolutely recommend it.

I received Physiotherapy on my frozen shoulder by Nisha. She was amazing. I would ALWAYS go back to Nisha if I ever need Physio again. The hospital is clean and the people are very accommodating , 10 out of 10

The staff were all lovely, caring and helpful. My only complaint was the building work, drilling and hammering until midnight one night when we were trying to sleep post operative. That was totally unacceptable.

Every member of staff (and there were reassuringly many) that engaged me during my stay was courteous, considerate and efficient. Everyone took time to explain all that was going on and address any anxieties or concerns I had. This was right from the point at which I arrived at reception through to being discharged. Most importantly, tea was in plentiful supply!

I had a lovely and welcoming experience as a patient at Mount Alvernia, the team who looked after me (Nurse Maliha, Sister Monika, Maria, Zarina, Aldrich, recovery nurse Luke and the night team were so kind and attentive.

I had an one day treatment on Monday at Mount Alvernia Hospital at Guildford. Even if I was a little bit scared about it, all the staff before and after my treatment were great. From the welcoming staff to the doctor and the nurses at the ward. Andrea at the Theatre was lovely and professional waiting for me to recover and the nurses Priscilla and Maria helping me in the room. Today, 2 days later, they called me from the hospital to find out how I am and if everything is ok. I believe that it is very important when you have health problems and you are in a hospital to feel safe and to have friendly and professional persons next to you. And this is what I had at Mount Alvernia Hospital.

Have been for a few consultations and tests prior to my recent operation and every single member of staff I have had contact with, whether clinical or admin, have been polite, courteous, helpful and most importantly caring. Incredible patient (customer) service. Thank you.

Underwent a procedure today with Dr Hussain which I had been very nervous for over the last passing weeks.

Well, I had nothing to be nervous for. As soon as I stepped into the hospital I was greeted with very supportive, knowledgable and friendly staff who explained every step of the day.

Overall had a fantastically comfortable visit and would highly recommend!

I have been attending physiotherapy sessions with Nisha and she has been really helpful. She goes out of her way to understand your needs to create your exercise sets and is extremely empathetic. Would highly recommend!
