He takes time to listen to what you want, discuss how realistic those expectations are, and ensure you leave the salon feeling happy and comfortable with your look. He’s helped me correct a bad home hair dye disaster and over time achieve a look that is perfect for me, and more importantly which is low maintenance and achievable at home.

I love this salon so much! This was the first time Mike has done my hair, I had a cut and blow dry and I’m really pleased with it. He made me feel totally at ease and did exactly what I asked for. All the staff are lovely and I always enjoy my visits here.

Thank you! A wonderful experience all round. Having been elsewhere for my last cut and it being fine, but nothing special, it was great to come back and have Dan's advice on a new style. No colour this time, but it's always been great when he has done my colour in the past.

I have no hesitation in recommending the talented and friendly staff. I will definitely be returning. I love my hair, cut and colour.

My first visit to John Carne was everything I could have wanted! The staff were amazing, polite, gentle with my hair (I have a very sensitive scalp and not once I felt like my hair was being pulled), Dan listened to what I wanted in terms of my colour and cut and delivered beautifully: amazing dark colour like I wanted, a cut easy to manage and much lighter than my previous messy one, and a lovely wavy finish. Also the lady who washed my hair had the most amazing touch, so delicate!
Next time we can go with even more blue in the colour! ;)

This was my first visit to John Carne and I was very impressed with the service. From the health and safety precautions on my arrival to the service Dan provided. He quickly understood what I needed, stepping in to wash my hair when everyone was busy. The cut and blow dry was great and I will definitely be returning.

Incredible visit. All PPE was used and my hairdresser was very attentive while also making me feel comfortable and at ease. I am Autistic and my hairdresser Emily made me feel incredibly settled despite being in a new environment alone (in a pandemic no less!). Will be visiting again, definitely my new favourite salon.
