Upper Gordon Road Surgery

Sceptical as all GPs in that past have been awful to deal with. Have been pleasantly surprised with how well I've been dealt with. Dr Didar Abdulla has been very responsive and helpful, the reception staff are very nice to speak to and willing to help. Managed to get appointments relatively quickly and various tests arranged swiftly.

Dr. Whitehouse has been absolutely amazing in helping me with my recent illness. I saw her the same day I called and she has phoned me twice since to check on my progress along with seeing me again in between. GP’s often get a hard time in the press but she has been simply amazing. Thank you.
The receptionist team have also been great in efficiently booking in tests etc. well done all! Your kindness and professionalism is greatly appreciated.

Absolutely the best surgery I've had. The Doctors and nurses are all so caring and friendly. I never feel rushed and feel they really listen to what I need to say. The reception staff are always super easy to get hold of and always friendly unlike many other GP surgeries I've had.

Impressive. This surgery is an exception - I have always managed to get a triage callback within minutes and if necessary a follow up appointment the same day.

The surgery is within walking distance of my home. The pharmacy on site gives a "5 minute prescription promise" which is always fulfilled and I am walking out with my medication just a few minutes after seeing the clinician.

Reception staff are discreet and polite. The medical staff are trustworthy, approachable and clearly show integrity. I'm astonished this surgery is so good and right open my doorstep! Thanks!

Overall this is an amazing surgery. Yes, sometimes you have to wait for an appointment and sometimes in the waiting room but this is to be expected with the current NHS stretch. We are lucky to have such a great surgery and with triage, always to be able to speak to a doctor within a matter of an hour or two maximum. In 12 years if we've really needed to see a doctor (including with 2 young children), this has always been available on the same day. Receptionist can sometimes come across as abrupt but this is because they are making sure the right people get through to the doctors when actually required.

NHS resources are stretched (we all know that), but everyone at this surgery is always kind, compassionate and helpful - and that does not cost anything (but is sadly missed by many other practices I’ve used in the past). They are effective without making you feel like a number and have been marvellous at resolving urgent care that I’ve needed in the past without making me feel like a burden. Thank you to the team, we are grateful for your care ❤

This is an very good to excellent practice. Over the last 20 years it has met my needs and ordinarily I get a very positive and courteous response. The doctors are exceptional and that's what matters most. I usually make about four visits a year so that's probably a fair amount upon which to make an appraisal. The biggest problem is Reception and Booking. I think a few small changes could make big improvements but I'm fairly certain they will be aware of that and the staff are probably doing the best they can with the resources available.

This is a Wonderful surgery! It's bright, clean and modern. The Receptionists are always friendly and helpful. The Doctors are Exceptional, nothing is too much trouble. They have saved my son's life on more than one occassion ... Thank you, for everything you do. Kudos to all the staff at Upper Gordon Road Surgery, we are Lucky to have you. 10/10

I find the receptionists at UGR surgery exceptionally helpful and kind. I have at times been so very distressed and the team there have been thoughtful and understanding. The care for my father with dementia, atrial fibrillation and other conditions has and continues to be wonderful. One GP visited him to discuss his end of life plans and was so respectful and sensitive. I would like to have them for my end of life plan, when the time comes.

Dr Pambakian is the most understanding Gp I have EVER had, yes you do have to wait for non urgent appointments but if it is an emergency they have a separate line for this, others Drs I have seen have been exemplary in the treatment received , you will be triaged by the appropriate medical professional.
My only issue is that I do not like being asked by receptionists what the problem is, having a phone call from the Dr is sometimes all that is needed ?.

Absolutely brilliant customer service by all staff, particularly by receptionist S. I have never met such a calm, kind, very helpful and cheerful receptionist like S in any other previous GP surgery.
