Came here for lunch and everything we had was absolutely fantastic and delicious!! Everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The staff were all wonderful and the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxing. We will not hesitate to come back!!

We called in for lunch at late notice and they were busy but the staff were attentive and found us space for three without delay. The food was excellent, the ploughman’s was excellent value for money and highly recommend - service was efficient and very polite. We had an excellent lunch and probably our best pub dining experience for some time.

Cycled here with my youngest child from Haywards Heath. Enjoyed a good pint of Thirsty Ferret and a lemonade.
Sat in the garden in the sunshine.

The six of us had lunch there yesterday, and it was lovely. They had no gas in the kitchen, and we were made aware that there wouldn't be any cooked meal option prior to the occasion. The friendly team went above and beyond to accommodate us and dished up a delicious lunch! We had a fab time! Thank you all!

Have dinner, lunch, drinks etc here regularly. Best pub in Lindfield/Haywards Heath. Service always friendly, food always good and nothing pretentious. Love this place for atmosphere, good food and the bonus of being able to bring the dog!

The food is sensational. Steak was cooked to perfection and the sticky toffee pudding was incredible.

Enjoyed a 2 course set menu lunch of squid followed by steak pie and mash for one person and herb crust cod on smashed new potatoes with lemon posset for the second person. All beautifully cooked, served with a smile and reasonably priced in a traditional old Inn atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Easy to find. Free car park with lots of space.friendly staff and gorgeous pub. Lots of interesting decor. Amazing fireplaces ( we plan to return in the winter to see them in action).

Absolutely phenomenal support from the umbrella outside, truly made my night spectacular. It provided me divine protection from the devil of downpour. The staff were delightful and attentive. Not to mention the vast selection of beverages available.

In the words of Anton Ego 'Last night, I experienced something new, an extra-ordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto: 'Anyone can cook.' But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.'

Didn't stay at this place but ate there and the meal was excellent. Our party of three each had different meal and we were all very happy with the food. Vegetables were fresh and the food was so tasty. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We would definitely eat here again.

A lovely evening as always with wonderful food. As busy as ever but the service was spot on. Extra busy as a function on in the upstairs function room. Pleased that they continue to be busy. The staff all work so very hard.

Took my parents here for a meal on my first trip back to England in the post-COVID era and it did not disappoint! This was always my parents favourite place to have dinner and turns out I now share that in common with them. Blinding food, all massive portions of exceptionally well prepared food. From the starter to the desert everything was perfect. Great selection of beers on tap allowing me to indulge my enjoyment of tasting a few. Heartily recommend and will most definitely return. I also love how old the building is and with a nice garden and car park out the back it’s all round spot on!

Great food, excellent service, would highly recommend for lunch and dinner. You have to book for both though as it's so popular! I can also highly recommend the biscoff Eton mess for your sweet treat too - yum!

Three of us stayed for 2 days and had 5 different meals between us - they were all fantastic. Service the first day was superb. Service for dinner the second day was bad, but I believe that was an exception, because everyone else was great.
This pub had a large outside area, good parking and it's a delight inside.
We also stayed in one of their rooms. It was a little tight, but comfortable and quiet.

A good pub restaurant, with a good 'pub grub' menu, and a large garden at the back.
When we visited they were offering a two course and three course menu, with more dishes to order a la carte.
Our ham & eggs, and beef lasagne were great!
Nice local beers too

Stayed one night at the hotel. Simple rooms but clean and with some charm. Amazing water pressure, ran a huge hot bath in 5mins. Staff were very friendly and relaxed, told me a bit about the history of the place. And breakfast was good, quality tea eggs and sausages, bacon & tomamos ok.
