STIHL GB

We have several STIHL products and most of them being battery operated have changed how we can keep on top of our garden front and back! The interchangeable batteries are fantastic and with winter coming up the battery operated leaf blower is fantastic!

Started my gardening business a year ago, currently changing all my tool to STIHL because the quality is amazing, making my job more pleasurable. Quite expensive for new gardener but is worth it.

Fantastic equipment, I purchased a range of cordless equipment for my partner it needed to be lightweight and easy to use, I went for the FSA60r (brushcutter) HLA56 (longreach hedgetrimmer) BGA 57 (blower) this came with two AK30 batteries and a charger. What more can I say You get what you Pay for.

Been here a number of times for different courses and looking at going back again when the appropriate course comes up

I think this company's petrol chainsaws and offcut saws are perhaps the best, and I've used their products for over 30 years. Their entire range have bags of power without relying on very high rpm to achieve it, which in turn leads to a longer interval between engine rebuilds. I also love the simplicity of the models, you can strip a TS400 offcut saw down to crank and casings with just the torx screwdriver/spanner supplied with it. If I had one criticism it would be Stihl's inability to make a reliable on/off switch for their offcut saws, this is an issue on both the current models and the previous 400 model and everybody always ends up using either the choke or the decompression button to kill the engine. Sort it out and I'll up my rating to five stars Mr Stihl.

Bought a RMI422.2 STIHL IMOW from local dealer, in April 2023, the PCB board failed in September 2023, local dealer collected it straight away to repair it. Two and a half months later Stihl GB have not supplied them with the part to repair it, spoken to Stihl directly on 2 occasions, promised to resolve the issue and keep me informed, neither have happened. Would suggest people consider the above before making a purchase.

I have used RM 448 TC mowers, for a few years. I swear by them! But on 1/9/23, i purchased another but i found the engine smokes very badly on starting, so i took it back on 20/9/23 had an exchange, same happened. So ive had a full refund. I hope this problem gets resolved soon

Purchased a rotavator which comes in so many bits and an awful manual which makes it very difficult to assemble. The handle was scratched through to the metal very badly and one of the bolts had a bad thread. The supplier told me it would take a week or two for the replacement parts. I live two miles from Stihl and they wont let me collect exchange parts. No good for me and the unit is not usable. I would recommend avoiding Stihl rotavators unless you want a big headache because they are very hard to assemble, they don't come with tools and one of the nuts is really hard to access.

I was originally pleased with Stihl's new electric strimmers for environmental reasons plus the FSA 56 is light, quiet and easy to use.
Unfortunately the trouble started after only one year of occasional use in dry conditions when it cut out and would not restart; it wasn't the battery. The local Stihl dealer and repair shop said the circuit board was corroded so I must have been storing / using it in damp conditions, and this apparently invalidated the two year warranty. It had been kept in a dry shed.
I took this up with Stihl UK but they were insistent that they didn't believe me and wouldn't honour the guarantee even though I complained that this product is actually designed and sold for garden use so should be able to withstand some wet conditions including an outdoor garden shed!
Under no circumstances spend £200 on such a feeble item produced by Stihl as the guarantee isn't worth the paper it's written on.

I bought a stihl cordless long reach hedge cutter, costing over £450 it stopped working a month ago, told to return it to dealer where purchased, told it needed a switch. 15 days after leaving it with them, got a phone message to say it's not the switch but the module, another 7-10 days, that was on the 20th August. Either Stihl or the dealer are not very good, as l have heard nothing
I earn my living as a gardener , and until now would have recommended Stihl, and was even concidering purchasing other battery products. But sadly a month without it (at the. busiest period) Would you?

I bought a chainsaw from golf and turf in wokingham. I use a saw 3 or 4 times a year. It spent the first 6 months backwards and forewards to them as it would not start or run correctly. Eventually they replaced it . The new one is as bad . It leaves you in dangerous situations with trees half cut and your life depending on it . I got the saw out yesterday . Fresh fuel , filed an edge on the blade and within 10 minutes i was disgusted once again . It has been said they are now made in China and that the piston rings are too tight in the cylinder. I have lost 1000's of pounds in work because i can not commit to tree removal anymore . You may ask why dont i just buy another chainsaw and that is because i have already replaced a blower and multi tool this year and sadly money doesnt grow on trees. I will not buy a Stihl saw again until the product becomes better. I would welcome stihl to contact me. James at Foxley Gardens Wokingham.
