Click & Collect Grocery Collection Point

The Click & Collect service can be useful but it can also be complete nonsense.

You have to ensure that you understand that items that they don't have in stock can be ordered online. When the instore picker finds items that are not in stock they will by default pick an alternative - this is a lottery. Sometimes you can get a larger size of the item you picked for the same price. Alternatively you might get offered something completely unrelated to the item you ordered.

In your online account you can choose not to have alternatives. In all cases you won't fimd out until you turn up to your allotted time slot for pickup. You need to bring your own bags to transfer your items so you can load the safely into your car.

You can refuse alternative offers. If you do, this is recorded and the money you paid for these items is refunded to the card you used to pay for them.

Of course, if most of the items you want have been replaced, this makes the whole process pointless, frustrating, and a waste of your time - this has happened to me on more than one occasion.
