Lovely view and chilled area with nice view over the Cambridge city.

Perfect spot to have a great view of Cambridge and also an historical place with an interesting story.

Cute little hill. Doesn’t take much to get above the city because it is so flat, but the view is incredible. A bit of a shame that where part of the old fort was is now a car park. Still, definitely worth the small walk up, bring something to sit on if you’re there a while, theres some concrete reinforcement at the top but not solid, and it was quite muddy as it had been raining. Can imagine a nice picnic in the evening.

Brilliant views over Cambridge can be seen from here. The location is not very far from the city centre and worth a visit if you are in the local area. The walk up to the top of the mound is not very diffcult. Sunset is a great time to go here.

Best views of Cambridge. Site of Norman Castle, now long gone, built on 1088 ish. Very historic site. Free! Use the steps as walking dow the bank will otherwise continue to the serious erosion damage on what is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Don't expect to see a castle or ruins of a castle because there is a no trace. The history says was a Castle during the Iron Age. The only thing you have a free panoramic view of Cambridge and surrounding. Unfortunately when I was there wasn't sunny but was ok. Very steep hill no chance to wheelchair access.

Don’t trick by it’s name. I didn’t see any castle! However, you can see the city under your feet. Don’t miss sunset or sunrise on not so cloudy days!

Neat place to view some of Cambridge. Easy walk up the hill and paid parking close by.

Hidden gem and right next to some very affordable parking just out of the centre of Cambridge. One of the best cities in the UK with beautiful architecture and scenery. Perfect for park walks or strolls along the canals passing through the city.

Castle Mound, is located in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. Originally built after the Norman conquest to control the strategically important route to the north of England.
The place is located on the south side of the city.
You can see from here a great panoramic view included the: St Giles Church, All Saints Church, St John's College and the King's College Chapel.
Next to it you can find a parking space, a museum-gallery and restaurant's, coffe shops as well.

Beautiful views of Cambridge can be seen from the top of the hill. Very easy to get up to with a clear stair pathway.

Remains of a motte and bailey castle built on the orders of William I in 1068.

A beautiful example of motte and bailey from the Norman invasion. It was built on a hill that completely dominates Cambridge. In this way, they had the chance to monitor every move of the local people. Thanks to the informative plates placed before the climb, you can take a quick tour of history.
