Great place for a walk, with lots of space for children to play and dogs to run around.
There are some cows but they're not a problem.
Wide road for cyclists and there is also a nice playground for kids.

A great open space in Cambridge. The common is split in two by find a train track which has a footbridge linking the two sides. The common also has a great play area for children including a basketball court with basketball hoops and covered with asphalt. The play area is fairly safe but not in enclosed unfortunately. Coldhams Lane is a rather busy road so parents need to be extra vigilant with very small children.

Great place to walk around. My kid loves to see cows here (she likes cows here more than the ones in Lammas Land and Midsummer Common).

Great place to find in Cambridge with managed but informal walks around open common land surrounded by wooded edges which have pathways within. Plenty of space to walk your dog, or play with the children.

Beautiful place and very nice to have cattle roaming the fields peacefully (watch out for cowpat though!) if you get there for 9am on a Saturday morning there's a nice friendly parkrun organised well. If you're in to keeping fit there's also a small workout area and flat paths to cycle on.

Would recommend this location for traction kite flying, they have a sports field area large enough for kite buggying... with restroom facilities available in the gym close by.

Very nice big kite space, which is a rare commodity in the area.

Also has a BMX dirt trail, very well provisioned sports grounds for many sports and has a childrens playground with a water park for children of all ages to play in during the summer. Free table tennis tables too.

I like the way the recreational area has two size slides the big scary one and a little one which isn’t so terrifying for me (my 2yo prefers the “tall”one). It’s also lovely pushing the swing looking out over the common. My son loves trampling through the mud and watching the trains from the high bridge!

Lovely open space for exercise and strilolling, with lots of nooks and crannys around the place to take you closer to nature. Also there's a fab coffee outlet - Mr Beanissimo - there on a Saturday morning.

Great common, nice space to walk dogs. The cows are horrible though in the summer, there are too many and they leave poo all over the pathways.

Love this "wildlife sanctuary" and spot of countryside within the city. Cows, sports fields, rabbits, birds a plenty. Accompanied by paths, kids play park and walks by the cam.

Cats Field. Warning, Common has it's every own environmental-sphere and weather even half a mile away is not necessarily representative of what you'll experience (/endure) out here.....

i was not at coldhams common but visiting nearby but Coldhams Common is a place i know well living in the area for 70 years and it is a good place to let children be children with the rifle butts to climb and all sorts of nature to explore. A must for children aged 8 and above but in groups and with some parental control advised. Have fun life doesnt last for ever.

If you are looking to play baseball Coldham's common is the right place to go here in Cambridge. Every Thursday from 6 pm - 8 am we have training sessions. Where you are going to develop the skills to join to the team and play this lovely sport every Sunday on summer.
