We are incredibly grateful to Village Vet Milton (and Whittlesford) for the fantastic level of care and professionalism they showed towards our cat, after we took him in with a lump on his head and disoriented behaviour.

They were honest and realistic from the start with regards to possible costs and outcomes, and we received regular updates from people who seem to really care.

We chose to proceed with the treatment after receiving a full breakdown of the cost. Fortunately we had insurance which covered a large amount of the bill, and yes, it was a lot of money, but we now have our cat back home making a great recovery which wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for Village Vets.

We highly recommend!

We had to take our cat to the 24-hour service late on a Sunday evening after he (and I) were bitten by a new foster dog. Everyone we met - from the receptionist to the nurse and the on-duty vet - was so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to do whatever they could to ease what had been a traumatic event. I was bleeding and in shock, as was the cat - they dealt with Bertie kindly and efficiently and then brought me a cup of tea and an iodine bath for my hand. During the three days Bertie was there, the updates were frequent and informative, so I felt I knew what was going on and what my options were at every stage. The discharge was equally informative and Vanessa had such a kind, reassuring and friendly manner that I felt that all would be well. I can't commend them highly enough and, though I hope I won't have to use the emergency service again, I certainly wouldn't hesitate should it become necessary. Thank you to all the staff at Village Vet Milton!

I was surprised to see negative reviews here. This was not our experience. Our cat suddenly became ill late on a Friday night. We phoned Village Vet Milton (Vet24), who advised us to bring her in. After registering our cat, taking insurance details, and an initial examination by the vet, our cat was admitted for emergency surgery. At 2am and 7am the vet phoned us with updates. The entire team was professional, kind, and reassuring at every step. They helped us through a very stressful situation - I can’t fault the care they gave our pet for both the out of hours service and subsequent visits. They liaised with our insurance company to get our claim processed quickly too. Would definitely recommend Village Vet for both emergencies and scheduled appointments.

Our 8 year old beloved Boy Buddy had cancer and deteriorated suddenly. We made the decision that he could not remain in pain for a whole night until our practice opened.
I was initially concerned that his own vet would not be there at his end but I can not fault the excellent, compassionate and loving treatment my precious boy received from the vet on duty. A heartfelt special thank you to Philip Miles

There were very friendly staff. We went to the emergency clinic at night because of my dog’s allergy. They were cautious and kindly explained every detail of the treatment. Thank you for your service.

I brought my rabbit to Village Vet Milton for an emergency appointment yesterday. We were seen quick, the staff were lovely and helpful, our vet Carol were amazing. The treatment that he was given worked well and he is now eating and back to normal. Thank you so much from Snuggles.

I love this vet. They went the extra mile for my dog Koda. We have been having the hardest time getting her paperwork ready to export and move her to a Japan with me. Initially had gotten a new rabies certificate because the USDA is very strict and requires blue ink signatures for vet official documents. Then, this document got stuck in US customs and wouldn't arrive in time before our projected flight.

Village Vet Milton has been so understanding and helpful. They took the time to make us a brand new pet vaccination card and MFR letter stating all of her rabies details. This saved me literally thousands on changing flights to Japan and a half-year of quarantine for Koda in Japan.

Thank you so much Dr Vetter and your team for helping reunite my dog with me in Japan. I can't thank you all enough for taking all the time you did and not charging me anything more for the paperwork. I really loved this vet and would recommend anyone to take their precious furry family members there.

I have never had any problems at all in the many years I have used this practice for my pets. Always caring, always see my pets quickly, and the staff are wonderful. The cat I have now is very nervous with people he doesn’t know but he is always put at ease and handled with care. Great separate area in the waiting room for cats with raised areas to put their carriers on so they can look outside rather than have to be scared of dogs.

Thank you to Village Vet Milton for the preparation that went into Leias viewing on Tuesday. I went prepared to wash Leia and clean her for us and my daughter to say goodbye and they had done all of that unbeknownst to me, prior to my arrival; they even saved some hair and took some paw prints in a lovely card for us to take home.

When I got there I brushed her and wrapped her up in her paw blanket with her hat and scarf on (because its cold up in the clouds with the angels, please note book picture) and my daughter was able to say goodbye and didn't question her temperature etc. She held her and said goodbye stroking her and kissing her, it was a very positive experience for her and made all the better by the preparation that had gone on before I arrived.

I just want to say how amazed I am with all the end of life help we received from the surgery and how they helped keep up the pretense of the angels waiting to take Leia back with them and how kind they were with my 3yo to help her have the time to say goodbye and all the work they did making it such a smooth and peaceful goodbye.

She just looks like she's sleeping 💔

I highly recommend this book if a pet passes away, this is about a dog called Dill who is packing to go to heaven with the angels. It's really helped explain where Leia is so my daughter can "see" her in the clouds and stars xx

Our cat had been in a steady decline and we decided it was time to euthanise her. Our usual vet could not offer an appointment at the best time for us but MVV offered a perfect time (8 PM on a Friday). The practice was very quiet which was both lucky and lovely. They handled our pet and family with care.

I had to take my dog Hugo for an out of hours appointment. Unfortunately we found out Hugo had an inoperable tumour. We had to make the decision to put him down All of the staff were fantastic. They made time for us to say goodbye to him.
It was a very hard time. My dog was looked after & cared for throughout.
Thanks for the compassion.

Sadly our cat passed away over a weekend and we used the Village Vet as our out of ours contact. They were absolutely amazing. So understanding of our sadness, they made us feel so comfortable and wasn't felt rushed at all in the whole process. The lady was so lovely with our children and explained that she would ensure our cat was looked after when we left her. We will definitely use them again with our other cat, hopefully not too soon x

Needed urgent advice tonight at 10pm, called and managed to speak to a nurse. She put our minds at ease and gave us the advice we needed to keep our pup healthy while he battles a bug. Appreciate vets that care about patients over the money they could have made if they told us an appointment was essential when advice would suffice. Thank you to the staff there tonight.

Absolutely brilliant emergency vets! Took our little dog here after she ate a large amount of honey roasted nuts one evening (our fault for leaving them on the edge of the coffee table)!! We were very pleased with the care she received from the very lovely lady vet on duty. She fully explained everything, was extremely kind and the procedure to make our dog sick was straightforward and quick and she thoroughly checked her over afterwards ensuring she was well enough to travel home. Hopefully we won't ever need to use emergency vets in the future, but if we do we are more than happy to bring our dog here.

Update: Unfortunately we had to bring our dog here over Christmas and again the treatment and care she received was first class. Very caring and kind team who looked after her very well for the two days she had to stay. A fantastic vets.

Myself and my husband want to thank Milton for fitting our Rotty Isaac in last minute at 4.30am when he became seriously unwell on Saturday. He was so sick all day Saturday and unfortunately he did go majorly downhill at 4am so we had to go to Milton for an emergency operation on his tummy, scans etc on the sunday. We saw a lady who's name I can't remember as we were so upset but she had beautiful red hair and was so kind. They always kept us updated about charges too along the way. He stayed in for two nights and they updated us all the time. Rosie Hunter was incredible, when she said she was going to call you at the end of her shift she did. We picked Isaac up last night and we got great aftercare advice for ages from another lovely girl. We can't thank you all enough, what you do is amazing.

I don't normally leave reviews for anything, but in this case I felt like I needed to express how greatful I was with the treatment I recieved from this Vet surgery in what could have been a really traumatic experience. (I had initially been to a different surgery a week before, that I will not be naming publicly until i've written a formal complaint- long story short, I was NOT happy with the service) I had a gut feeling he wasn't right and I hadn't felt listened to.
I went along to the branch of Village vet in Whittlesford on an off chance, and asked if they did second opinion on blood results, was told yes, they didnt see why not and got me booked straight in, I saw a locam vet who said she felt a lump in my cats stomach and got me transferred straight over to Milton as they have a great team for ultrasounds. I called and booked Chutney in for the following Tuesday and I took him in. On arrival, receptionists seemed kind, I was extremely anxious about the whole situation and the fact that i'd be leaving him in a strange place for a whole day. I was called in and spoke to the Vet who would be leading the case, Phil. He LISTENED to my corncerns and wrote everything down in detail, even history from years before. Despite me perhaps sounding like an overly concerned crazy person, because I didn't seem to have any massive alarm bells ringing, he was kind and took everything in. He had a good feel of Chutney and seemed to be understanding in great detail, everything that he was feeling inside his abdomen. After a few minutes he prepared himself and said "You were right to bring him in" he had what felt like a large cluster of masses in his abdomen all bunched together. He had tried to move them about to see if it was a blockage of some sort but he couldn't. He had a heart murmur and he was going to need a ultrasound to determine what exactly the masses were. I understood he couldn't give me a great deal of information until he knew what exactly what it was but he reassured me they would find out what was going on, gave me a brief idea of what the next steps would be and would call me straight away to keep me updated once the ultrasound was performed.
Phil called me later on that afternoon. Devastatingly he broke the news that it was suspected lympoma and pretty much all over his abdomen. He had also found my Chutney had fluid in his chest cavity and a heart murmer, as he had mentioned that morning. He had to tell me that he might only have a few days left. I asked him to take a sample to determine it was lymphoma for my own piece of mind to leave me with the options I had. I asked him to bring him around, I wanted to take him home and enjoy the time left with him. I picked him up later that evening with some medication to help to keep him comfortable and instructions to carefully moniter him. Chutney deteriorated over the next 2 weeks. I made the decision that it was time and called the surgery. They were kind and understanding and I felt like I trusted them and felt listened to the whole way through the case. I called numerous times and spoke to one of the receptionists Nicola, who was also so SO kind and I really appreciated her help, I have stress related fainting episodes and I had 2 of those in the few visits I had here, she stayed with me until I felt better and then helped me back to my car, with Chutney and all of his things i'd sent him in with after triple checking I was ok to go home. The concern from both Nicola and Phil was outstanding and I really appreciated how both myself and Chutney were treated and looked after right the way through. I'd recommend them to anyone, even though the outcome of my situation was such a devastating one.
Thank-you Nicola and Phil 💕
