Brilliant cakes at reasonable prices. We enjoyed the carrot cake, Eccles cake and the caramel shortbread they were delicious!

Small with selection of fresh roll. Vegan rolls and pasties! Hence 5 star review

For those who dont know me, i love food. A lot. Ive travelled to a lot of places both home and abroad and taken that love of food with me. That said The Bakery@89 has some of the best bread n cakes i have ever had. So much so its actually an hours drive from my home but i have made the journey each week for the last 3 weeks. I discovered The Bakery @89 by chance when visiting rye and its my number 1 reason to return. Having spoken to the owners i was suprised to find out they had only just opened, but less suprised to find out that Steve comes from baking legends. The Bakery @ 89 has great bread cakes pastries great prices and great staff. Il continue to be a customer till they have to roll me out the door. Thanks.

Was just walking past this bakery when out of the corner of my eye I spied both 'London Cheesecake' and what looked like 'pretend cream' doughnuts (other half's absolute favourite!) Popped in to check I hadn't imagined the London Cheesecake (been so long since have seen them on sale as not a local) and that the cream was artificial (he's THAT fussy and thankfully they have both!) While the lovely owner was bagging up our buns we had chance to look over the other selection of bread and cakes and honestly there wasn't a thing in there that didn't look delicious. Also they all looked a good size and excellent value. Was mid morning when we bought ours and they were a very welcome addition to lunch at a service station on the way home! Thanks The Bakery @89! I had a sandwich in the Mermaid Street Cafe and decided to get the same bread to take home.
The bread is simply the best I have ever enjoyed..
Just so fresh and soft.

I went to the bakery because of a recommendation from a friend and it was better than I could’ve imagined, excellent sandwiches and great cakes and great service. I would recommend it to anyone. Definitely be using this great bakery again.
