We had a fantastic day at the Gower heritage Centre.
Not only is the place very nice and perfect for a sunny day outside with the family, but it also has plenty of very interesting information, activities for kids and a great café.
Definitely one not to miss if you are in the area!

Quiet, tranquil late autumn experience.
Mostly mothballed and end of season.
I enjoyed:
Mill race with ducks
Incubator with chicks
Pond with geese
Cider pressing (excellent)
Mill stream and working wheel
Local produce shop
Historic agricultural equipment

Had such a great day out. Super friendly staff, great history and so much to see! Really enjoyed it. Plus plenty of bonus animals to see and a tasty tea room. Highly recommend. Also the fact you can park there, pay for entry then use the carpark to walk to the three cliffs bay is ideal!!! Such a brilliant time!!

We spent 4 hours (incl lunch break) here on a wet day Feb half term with our 2 grandchildren 6 & 8. We all learned so much from the miller about his 800 yr old watermill and his ducks and their 3 week old ducklings. Simple, but the kids enjoyed the indoor play area and the historic farm machines etc. They were able to hand grind some flour and enjoyed feeding the ducks (20p coins needed)

It's a lovely place to spend the morning or afternoon, plenty for adults and children, it's a look into times gone by also does workshops, pottery, painting, craft works, woolen mill, and play areas for children plus duck feeding.

Amazing place to camp overnight in your vehicle/campervan for £12. Toilets open all night and shower tokens £1. Lovely little shop making fresh coffee and treats. Bakery sold amazing croissants too. Had a long walk to 3 cliffs Bay and Pennarth Castle ruins. We will definitely come back!

Warm friendly service. Lots to see for the whole family. Locally produced apple juice and cider to buy - a must! A superb bakery with freshly baked treats - delicious croissant varieties. Silversmith shop with exquisite items. Walking trails through this scenic area are very popular. A very special place to visit. Highly recommended.

What an incredible place, great friendly, helpful staff, it goes on and on with displays, history, various shops and industry. The mill wheel was turning and loved the mill cottage. Lots of machinery, aging with time, great facilities for children, you can spend 20p and feed the chickens and ducks. I was alone, it cost £7 that included parking, put your ticket in your car and take off on a walk after your visit, very near three cliffs bay. Fabulous little shop, also a bakery in another building that lots of people buy from on their way past. I should have bought early they ran out of pastries by the time I left the centre. Spent four hours there. Covered play area and toilets. You can buy food and drink from the shop and take it into the tea rooms, how nice is that.

Great location, we didn’t go for the tour but had some coffee, cider and cakes from the shop. Very friendly and helpful. Cider is made on site and tastes very nice. Better to have a designated driver so you can enjoy the different types of cider available. Chocolate brownie is really good too.

Great place for people of all ages, really interesting tour explaining the history of the buildings as well as the gower in general. Great education area on sheep, goats, chickens, ducks and other birds. Craft workshops available if booked beforehand. The shop has a great selection of local foods, drinks and crafts. Infact they sell cider that comes from the orchard on their land. Very local and authentic. I would recommend the red lady cider.

Lovely little stop before going on a walk. I'm not vegan, however, there is a little tea room in which there is vegan food of great taste and culture. Highly recommend, even if it's just to try the homemade chips.

What a super nice place and what a guide we got. Extremely knowledgeable; showing and explaining us the mill and the flour grinding process. A MUST when visiting. Bought cider as well in 1 pint can, neat.

We absolutely love this place, it's a little gem. So much information and lots of things to look at. The kids love the park and animals, the chicks were just hatching which was amazing to watch. Take 20p to feed the ducks some food, they eat out of your hand! It hasn't changed much since I went there as a child, a place stopped in time. The park has been updated and the sand is lovely! And the little tractors the kids can go on too are a bit hit! I cannot recommend this place enough for a real educational visit for the whole family!

Forgot to get photos of the best part... The tour of the water wheel. Excellent tour guide who had me and the family listening all the way through. Some interesting facts I never knew about the importance of how different materials affect the grinding process.
Interactive for the children and plenty of animals to see. Late afternoon into evening Market stalls were on and it was great to support some locally sourced and made products.
Kitchen staff in the cafe were fantastic too. Order was lost but they were really apologetic and gave us all a free drink for prolonged waiting.

Great place with a lovely staff and tasty local food! The museum is really interesting, and you can try a different kinds of local cider here, as well as see how the power of water is used to produce this drink. Well equipped facilities on side. Worth to pay a visit!

Alas, always something to amuse and educate the children, but closed on Boxing Day at the time of our visit.
But a great jumping off point for the walk beneath the ruins of Penard Castle, as you wind your way along the rivervalley, through the dunes and finally onto a wonderful beach.
Look out for the wooded footpath signs just opposite the vehicle access road to the centre.
A great walk for the dog and the children too...

Great atmosphere in the heritage centre. Nice independent businesses to discover too (the little bakery, jewellery, ice cream). The cider they make there is also delicious and the staff are lovely and friendly. Had a great afternoon here afternoon after long walks with the dog 👍

Had a brilliant day out here, and very informative too. A great place to take young kids. It's a lot bigger and more varied than it seems from the outside too.
