The Unicorn Hotel

Ticked all the boxes for us as we were on our way up to North Wales, great halfway stop.
booking was simple and great communication after.
The choice of drinks available is good but Staropramen wow lovely pint.
Our room was lovely such a comfy bed no noise from outside either.
We only stayed for one night and arrived way to late for tea, which we discussed prior to arrival.
Breakfast was very nice and we were looked after every need catered for, Thankyou.
we will see you again next year, hopefully we will get a win then too... Thanks again

Cath & the team were super welcoming when we arrived. Unfortunately we were in between dining times, however Cath very kindly made us a sandwich platter along with a cream tea, the home-made scones are to die for.
The room was cosy clean with a really comfortable bed and private bathroom.
We were not rushed in the morning and even allowed a long lie in which was just awesome after a very busy night.

Staff in the afternoon when we surfaced were just as friendly and I wanted to take the staff members dog home ! They offer breakfast we missed it, our bad - it was probably really good.

If you are looking for a proper warm friendly welcome, great service, a comfortable bed and value for money, don’t hesitate to book.

Great hospitality, service and homemade food! Popped in as I was staying in the area and the landlady very kindly accommodated my dog and I, even though they were closed for a private party.
All the food was home made, vegetables were really fresh and nicely cooked, and the local ice cream was really tasty.
There was also a variety of different options on the menu, and the service was excellent!

Go every year for a friend's Sunday dinner and it just keeps getting better. Lovely people, service and food.

Just had the most delicious Sunday carvery! Meat was so tasty and juicy and roast potatoes were cooked to perfection! Vegetables were all so fresh and tasty, highly recommended and can't wait to come back!

Stayed here for an Ultra marathon. The room was modern and clean and the bathroom looked brand new.
The hosts were amazingly welcoming and provided a packed lunch as I was leaving too early for breakfast. This was offered rather than requested - great service.
The room also had free Netflix and the Butty Bach beer was lovely.

Absolutely brilliant. Booked In advance while attending a wedding nearby. From check in, to rooms, to breakfast, everything was brilliant.

The rooms were clean with everything in working order.

Kath, the owner even gave us a ride to the wedding venue as taxi are very limited.

What a brilliant little find this was. Travelling from South to North Wales on the A470 and needed a place to stop.
Very friendly service, welcomed our dog in the bar. Good menu choice, fairly accessible. Even the dog loved it!

Mobiles two last minute rooms for work, at a very fair price rooms were awesome very clean and tidy . We also had food and I do recommend the fish and the chicken curry 👌 I can’t fault anything it’s was a very nice atmosphere by the owners and I think it was there daughter who served us aswell who was very pleasant and jolly… we will definitely be booking here again when we are next here for work.. I want to say thank you again for having us and hope to see you all again soon 😁

Each time we visit The Unicorn its for a meal. The food is always presented well and extremely tasty. Parking can be a problen during busy times but there is more parking around the corner. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and highly recommended. Would advise booking to avoid disappointment 👌

Meals are absolutely fantastic, & staff are welcoming & friendly, Best Gammon I’ve ever tasted, portions are plentiful. The Yorkshire pud with sausages & veg is enough to feed 2 people. Looking forward to our next visit

Had dinner there Sunday and got say cant fault Sunday carvery was lovely. Highly recommended an we as a group will definitely be going back soon. Only 1 thing could do with a better made mint sauce as to runny

Me and my partner were in the area for the weekend staying at Maesmawr Farm Resort, we booked last minute for Sunday carvery and they managed to fit us in and the food was absolutely amazing! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, would 100% recommend. If we are ever in the area again we will sure be booking here again! Thanks for making us feel so welcome!

Wow... one of the best meals we've had in a long time, freshly cooked, perfect portion size, lots of choice and very tasty. The friendly staff were so helpful, Hubby said excellent Ale on tap, would definitely return and recommend

The hotel is absolutely spotless and serves THE best breakfast. Each room is individually decorated and is stylish and comfortable. The best part about the stay was the people Cath and Phil couldn’t have been nicer. They treated us like special friends rather than customers Cath even blow dried my hair for me as I couldn’t get an appointment at a local hairdressers and I was attending a wedding.
Stay here I promise you you will not be disappointed

Amazing place definitely a hidden gem. Amazing food and the hospitality is fantastic. The rooms are very modern and decorated to a high standard, modern tvs in rooms with fridge and kettle. Bathroom is amazing very spacious and modern hot water very time you have a shower.Food is served downstairs. The owner was very friendly and happy to go the extra mile during my stay also bar staff was very helpful and had Amazing customer service. I highly recommend this place to people visiting the area you won't be disappointed with your stay

Stopped off for Sunday Lunch in the July 2021 heatwave. The staff and owners were fantastic. Brilliant food. Looking forward to returning 😀

My family and I stopped there for some lunch. The food was outstanding. Well cooked fresh meat. The onion rings and the chips were delicious. Our daughter is very picky. But she loved their sausages. Very friendly Staff and atmosphere.

This was the nicest, most homely pub/hotel I have stayed for a long time. The food is excellent and they are very accommodating to all requests. Additionally rooms are very clean, and spacious. Incredible hospitality and would highly recommend for anyone going through or staying in the area.

Booked a table here mid week as we were stopping near by and recommended by our holiday lodge park. very warm welcome . had a main and dessert. fantastic food with very large portions and excellent price. proper country food grub
