Lovely tiny museum.
The attendant was great at telling us the story of Muller and how they homes were set up, and the charity continues.
Interesting to know, and some nice little displays, and dressing up stuff for children.
Maybe a bit more interactive stuff and less wordy boards would be more engaging.
Great temporary exhibition of needlework by some of the girls who'd been through the orphanage - which is what we went for.

I LOVED wandering around this place and reading all the info. It is a lot of reading, but the info is all very inspiring and easy to read. FREE entry which is always a treat.

Such a heart warming and encouraging history to learn about. There are toilets 🚻 in the building and free and paid for books to take or buy. 📖 There is a nice mix of info and interaction thought provoking stories to read.

Nice chat with the girl who worked there which was lovely.

Well worth a visit. :)

Amazing museum. So so interesting to learn about this giant of the Christian faith. Although fairly small, this is a very informative and entertaining museum for all ages. Whether a Christian, or not, I would definitely recommend checking out this place, a great way to spend an hour or so. The staff were super helpful and friendly!

Interesting how the neglected children were cared for at turn of 1900.
Also their records were invaluable in giving me details why my grandma and her sister were there at 1.5 and 2.8 years old, and where eventually moved out to. Also names of great grandparents names (that my father never knew).
Certainly worth the visit for me!

A bit difficult to find as it isn't signposted from the Main road. But the staff were brilliant and helpful. The exhibition was small but more than adequate. Came away with so much information about my grandmother who lived in the orphanage until she was 17 years old in 1895. My cousin from other side of the family lives in Kroppenstedt, the birthplace of George Müller.

Staff super friendly and helpful and knowledgeable - I remember the site when it was a college on the site, (and bigger than it is now!!) and used to use the swimming pool on the site from a local school) - great as this museum is FREE

The display goes in chronological order and is easy to read with a couple of videos

Press buzzer to be let in and door release to exit

Probably one of Bristol's best kept secrets - I know it was February but it was quiet

I live nearby so I walked - parking is limited(mainly limited to residential and a few places for the museum) so if you can use the bus - not far from the Gloucester Road where many buses go down (72,73,74, 75 & 76) The number 70 goes closer. Fares still currently capped at £2 single journey or use your bus pass if you have one - much easier than stressing about parking

Keep up the good work and visit if you can

Here you come face to face with a little-known story of the making of modern Britain - the fairy-tale kind of story of one man (and his wife, daughter and son-in-law) who, in years when kindness to children was uncommon, built an institution to care for unprotected children.
Beside their size, the solid structure of the buildings impressed me.
Wow, kudos to George Muller and his successors!!
May they win the race to make Britain truly Great!

We were visiting from the United States and we were on a driving tour of England, and while we were visiting Bath, I checked to see if there were any George Muller sites we could visit in Bristol. The George Muller Museum came up, and we decided to go for it. I'm so glad we did.

It's a beautiful museum, and at the time we were visiting, it was only a few years old in its current location.

Here's four things I loved about it:

1) It's free, which is expected, as George Muller never asked anyone to give to his work unless they felt prompted to on their own.

2) It's located in one of the orphanage sites, which gives you better sense of what life was like there.

3) It's informative. Even if you don't know the story of George Muller, you will know it by the end. (They have kid-friendly summaries of each of the informational stations as well. In fact, the whole museum is very kid-friendly without losing its appeal to adults.) There's lots of artifacts from George Muller and the orphanages he started (e.g., one of his Bibles, original uniforms, etc.).

4) It will stir your heart. I left with a sense of vision for our own time, and I'm grateful.

If you can find a way, stop by the museum.

This is a small but insightful museum giving a clear walk through the life of George Muller. It is a historic account of a man who put his faith into account to rehome orphans from all over the UK. It is very impactful and well worth a visit.

The staff were incredibly friendly and happy to answer any questions. You may need a pass for your car depending upon where you park, so check on arrival. The only facilities on site are toilets - there are no refreshments available.

Come and be inspired!

Best 2 hours spent learning about how one man’s faith in God resulted in his work of saving over 10,000 orphans and giving them a home, education and livelihood in the 1800s onwards. It is a small museum packed with boards of information and items of interest , but the amazing thing is that the 5 buildings used to house the orphans are still standing in Bristol though they now house apartments for local residents. The staff , especially Joel who tended to us are so friendly and ever ready to answer questions. It is free admission ( though donations are accepted for charitable works by the organisation), and making a prior appointment is highly advised as they may have full bookings some days.

We visited with our little group and were warmly welcomed by the staff. The museum is underwhelming at first glance .But Children were thoroughly engaged, thanks to the amazing staff who gave them age appropriate activities. It was overall a very good experience. I am sure the kids will cherish this lesson and the visit for a long time 🙌

Lovely museum on how George Muller cared for over 17,000 orphans for the glory of God and through tremendous faith in Him. Houses in the second orphan house built in Ashley Downs. Beautiful, clean and well done, completely free and even with free literature. Engaging even for young children. Highly recommend!

Incredible museum & memorial for an incredible man.

We visited Bristol & this was a must for us. We found the museum informative & would be great for all ages.

Would definitely pair this up with something else during the day as it took us about a hour and half to walk round but we walked away happy & content with what we have learned.

With their help we also found his Grave at the local cemetery which I can highly recommend.

Staff were super friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

Parking could be slightly difficult as there is only 6 spaces but we were the only ones there at the time so that didn’t affect us.

We will be returning for sure.

What an incredible testimony to God. The story of George Muller is inspiring and moving. To read about what he did through faith and prayer is incredible. To see the buildings and visit the museum really brings home the enormity of what he did and all to the glory of God. We were greeted warmly and introduced to the exhibit then left to spend time on our own. Its a small exhibition. Beautifully and clearly laid out, leaving the visitor with a clear and comprehensive explanation of the life and work of this amazing man of faith.

What an inspiring true story of an amazing spiritual man. If only we could all walk in faith as strong as his, trusting in the Lord to provide at all times. He helped 10,000 orphans never once asking anyone but God for help and his sole purpose was to magnify God's good grace. 🙌🏻🙏🏻
