Wright's Shop

Shop is run by the nicest kindest people I have met. So compassionate to my nephew who recently lost his mum. He got the best welcome ever when we called in yesterday. Thank you so so much xx

I would have imagined that a rain-damp, muddy booted, heavy backpacked hiker wouldn’t be your ideal customer but when I dropped in midway through my SUW hike the people running Wright’s could not have been more welcoming and even invited me to sit in the warm back room to eat my breakfast and offered me a hot drink and to refill my water bottles. So, so appreciated after four and a bit days out in the hills! The shop is really well stocked with everything you’d need for hiking resupply. Highly recommend a visit ❤

I was made to feel very welcomed as soon as I stepped into this shop!! Bill and his wife are lovely and have created a cute shop in the middle of the village for locals and campers like myself.
I bought a scotch pie which they kindly warmed up for me right there in the shop, as I had no way of heating it up myself.
In terms of stock, they had everything I needed to restock my supplies, including firewood, which Bill carried to the car!

All in all, a lovely shop with lovely owners!
(Also, their apple slices were fantastic!! If they have them when you go, I would definitely recommend that you try one!!)

Small but well stocked shop owned and staffed by an incredibly friendly married couple. Hiker friendly; highly recommended for SUW resupply.

Doing Southern Upland Way wild-camping and carrying a heavy pack over big daily distances. Needed supplies. Loaded up on a mixture of pies and a bridie. All locally made. Also nailed the Tunnocks and sports mix. Very friendly owner/franchisee/manager. Excellent selection of other goodies & useful items that I didn't have space to buy.

Great owners, good customer service. Good prices and good food.
