Lovely lunch in this gem of a pub in Sussex. The chicken pie had the most amazing flavour with just the right amount of buttery puff pastry. Best liver and bacon ever, definitely a must try. The menu changes on a daily basis so it’ll be nice to go back and try some of the other items on the menu

Returning visit and delighted by the improvements. We couldn't fault the wonderful service and the excellent food. The chilled sweetcorn soup was the best soup ever ! The cured trout and the plaice were fresh and expertly cooked and desserts unusual and delicious. I recommend the New World Sauvignon Blanc. The staff were very professional and attentive. We will return often.

Lovely experience. Chose this pub for dinner on our visit to the area and was quite happy with it. The pub area and restaurant area are separate and have completely different vibes. The pub is lovely, dark-ish and traditional, the restaurant is bright, white linen, slightly fancy looking. Out table was the corner one, a bit inconvenient as it’s in the way, but good for people watching and didn’t bother us much when the restaurant was full. I was surprised that there aren’t many photos and reviews available online, but going with the gut I’m glad we made this choice. Out of starters we tried gambas - they were amazing! The sauce is sooo delicious. Crab linguine was good, but to me slightly lacked salt. Food was in general on the spicier side, but I loved that. Wine choice was great, and espresso martini very good as well. Overall a slightly pricey place but I’d say it’s worth it. Really curious about their steak as it sounds so delicious!

This came as a local recommendation whilst staying in the area and totally lived up to expectations. Food was delicious, but the service was outstanding! All the girls were fantastic but a special shout out to Tilly who went above and beyond. Thank you!

Found this on Google when looking for a pub to visit after a trip to Sheffield Park Gardens. It did not disappoint. Fantastic food. We had some starters (chorizo and prawns) and then for mains the pork belly, sausage and mash and fish and chips. Everyone loved the food. The service was great and very understanding of a small toddler.

Nothing but praise for the food & service for our family group of 4 adults , with wonderful atmosphere in the courtyard . We felt the price was fair for the quality of our experience & everyone enjoyed it . The Griffin seem to have the winning combination that seems a rare find these days & will be quick to recommend to others.

Excellent experience! Outdoor dining on a fine summer's evening. Freshly cooked BBQ dinner with a nice cold wine. Service was great and friendly staff to hand. Had a lovely time with my husband and two children!

Just had the most wonderful afternoon at the Griffin Inn. Aside from the amazing view and incredible food, when we couldn’t get a taxi to the nearest train station, Alex drove us to make sure we didn’t miss it. Above and beyond. This is customer service.

I had a lovely visit to the Griffin the other week, Ed and the team were so hospitable. Delicious Fish & Chips followed by a perfectly poured Guinness overlooking the hills in their huge garden!

We had a lunch at The Griffin for 13 to celebrate a family birthday. Everything was perfect: the service was attentive and friendly, the food delicious and the ambience relaxed and comfortable. Excellent value given the quality of the menu and venue. Thank you very much to the team at The Griffin for helping make it a very special occasion!

Great meal and stay at The Griffin. The room was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. The bar had a great range of beer, wine and spirits and the staff were excellent. They went above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent - wonderful quality ingredients put together well, served nicely and piping hot. We wouldn't hesitate to return, and plan to do so in the summer so we can make the most of the excellent grounds and spectacular view!

Perfect night away, great venue and just what we was looking for... food was amazing and would recommended the Apple crumble. Staff great and very helpful.
Accomodation was good but not sure it warranted the price of the stay, could do with a little bit of attention in places but did not spoil our stay one bit just an observation for the guys at The Griffin Inn to make a note of.
Thanks again for a lovely weekend

Love this Pub! The King Prawn Linguine was superb & our server efficient and friendly.
One criticism: the Ladies loos! No lock working on the door and loo not flushing!

Had an amazing lunch here with family. The gentleman (I think manager) was kind and helpful and the waitress was excellent. Our food was delicious and the staff were so nice about our children going outside to play between courses. We would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the garden!
