Excellent restaurant, lovely food & great host. Recently took my colleagues, who aren't too familiar with Indian food, for a visit, and they absolutely loved it! The staff were incredibly attentive, polite, and well-spoken. Despite the busy atmosphere, they took the time to explain the dishes to us, which I appreciated. The food was lovely, great master chef in the kitchen who cater the food to our needs. Highly recommend this place as one of the best in Callander.

Stopped by overnight in Callander and luckily got a table for two. This place is likely to be very popular so I would strongly recommend booking a table. We would have been happy to get a takeaway.

Attentive staff, quick service even though restaurant was busy.

An mix of traditional and southern Indian dishes/tweaks. Really well cooked. For sure we would come back.

Was a bit tricky to find. Maybe a sign below the pub sign might help? Google maps found it.

This was our first visit to this newly opened Indian restaurant. The service was outstanding and the manager of the restaurant was so helpful when we were ordering our meal. The food was delicious and the spices in the food were just perfect for our palate. Would highly recommend a visit. We will certainly be back.

Great hidden gem! Nestled in behind the bar of Crags hotel. Went here for lunch and had 4 starters with poppadoms and a garlic naan. Fantastic flavours and very fresh ingredients.We are from Bradford so we know a bit about Indian food. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Visit here you won't regret it. A++++

High time Callander had a class indian restaurant.....👍🤗 Now it has. First visit to Desh tonight. The restaurant is situated inside the old Crags Hotel on Main St. Callander. Decoration is excellent with colourful floral motifs in abundance. Staff gave us friendly and quick service. The owner came and spoke to us enquiring if all was to our satisfaction. Food is well presented, high quality classic indian dishes at affordable prices.Most enjoyable.I have booked again for early oct,when i perform at the Crown Hotel on Oct 6th as part of the 19th
Callander Jazz & Blues Festival.Please give the new restaurant a try if in the area. You will not be disappointed 😊

So tasty!! Loved everything we ordered, especially the naan, which was the best I’ve ever eaten! Great, pleasant service too.

What a delicious meal we had tonight. Just what we needed after a day on the road touring. The staff were super attentive and our server Tony did a wonderful job. Highly recommend if you are staying in Callander..

Had the most delicious dinner. Chicken pakora for starter followed by chicken korma and peshwari naan. I usually only have naan with my curry but I had to add rice because there was so much sauce to soak up. The sauce was thick instead of runny which is as a bonus!! Definitely recommend dining here!

The waiting staff were lovely and accommodating.

Curry worthy of the big city

We went in on the basis of the smell of spices frying... had a lovely meal and were really looked after (even met the chef!).
It's lucky we'd walked about 7 miles before dinner, as we had room for dessert for once! Really lovely spiced food (not just in terms of heat, there was cumin, fenugreek, corinader, mustard seed, curry leaf, cinnamon and more). Chicken murg Malai kebab was gorgeous, onion bahjis were crispy and light. We had lamb kadhai (tender, juicy, chunky green pepper) and saagwali with paneer (big chunky bits of paneer, creamy spinach sauce) mains. We just about had room for dessert and shared a fluffy cheese cake (gulab janeer) with cardamom, which we've never seen before. The ethos is authentic Indian food (mainly Northern, but some south Indian dishes too) with a home cooked vibe - not a fluorescent orange chicken piece in sight!

Excellent food! Very clean restaurant, friendly staff. The owner greeted us and was very personable. Definitely try the lamb chop. May be the best Indian food I have ever had. Made to order. Delicious!

Desh restaurant was a delightful experience. The onion pakora was perfectly crispy, and the chicken biryani was rich with authentic spices and tender chicken. The warm ambiance and attentive service made it even better. For those missing true Indian flavors, especially Andhra cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. It finally gave me the taste of home I had been craving for two years. Highly recommended!

An absolute delight in the heart of Calander- The Crag provides an amazing and warm atmosphere and such good food, that’s so close to home.🇮🇳 will visit this place again and again. 😀

It was a great experience and a great place to have Indian cuisine. The restaurant team was very welcoming. Callander a beautiful town in Scotland amid is this wonderful wee restaurant serving some delicious dishes. Highly recommend while you are passing through Callander town.

Restaurant very welcoming to a big family, all the staff were extra attentive going above and beyond to make us feel extra special. All the food was homemade and one of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten in. The Salmon starter was out of this world. I fully recommend anyone passing through Callender to visit this great Indian restaurant.

Stumbled across this wee place coming back from Loch Lomond on a rare scorching weekend in Scotland. Seems to be the only Indian in Callander but this will be a very tough restaurant to beat! Food was absolutely fantastic! Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants we've been to for a long time. Service was also quick and super friendly. The owner is such lovely chap! Highly recommend if your in and around Callander or even just passing through!

We had one of the best Indian meals ever. Excellent friendly service. Food was so authentic and full of flavour. Everything you could wish for and much more.
We wish it was near to our home in Whitby. Don’t hesitate to book and enjoy.
