Toll House Inn

Check in and check out was quick and easy. All the staff were good and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Location is central and in walking distance of the castle and shops.
We were there for the play in the park at Williamson Park which was about a 20 mins walk.

Very nice and comfortable Rooms. I enjoyed my stay for 3 days. The courtyard is simply awesome to sit and have a coffee. Rooms are really good and the staff Is really helpful and shows a friendly gesture.

We went for lunch and we weren't disappointed, the service and food were very good.
We had the risotto, cheese and onion pie and fish and chips and I ordered the toll house curry sauce for dipping my chips.
All the arrived hot and was delicious. The thick chips were really good.
The only thing I wasn't keen on was the curry sauce, it was far too fruity for my taste. We will be back

We recently stayed at The toll house, using the hotel, basically, as a base while we came up to visit the family for a christening.
The food is really good, absolutely delicious [ the family were more than happy to join us for supper AND Breakfast before we left.]
The room was spotless & functional. Meticulously Clean bathroom: Nice touch was the coffee machine in the room, & pods to use with it.
The strongest Suit of the hotel, however has to be the staff.
Without exception, all of the staff in & around the bar & restaurant area were really friendly, helpful & obliging. Special “shout-out” to Ellie who became a best friend to my eldest granddaughter when they discovered they were both called Ellie!!!
Rob was also more than brilliant, really friendly & nothing was ever too much trouble! A Great Stay enjoyed by all will definitely return.

Stayed for one night, had dinner and breakfast. It was all spot on. We especially enjoyed our dinner, there was a great choice of food and drink, it was all really tasty and with friendly service. Our room was cosy, clean and a good temperature.

Excellent! Staff were exceptional and very professional, smiles all round and nothing was too much bother, our room was immaculate, and facilities were spot on. From air con to plate for my hair strainers.
Lovely little beer garden with heaters.
Breakfast was bang on. Our only disappointment (our own fault) was that we didn’t eat there other than breakfast, the food coming from the kitchen looked amazing. Highly recommend.

Been here A few times, fillet Steak is always perfect! 10/10, cooked perfectly and well seasoned! Staff are all friendly and the bar / restaurant are clean and tidy. 100% recommend

Stayed here for 3 nights and the stay was excellent from start to finish. The staff were brilliant and even served me tea early before the morning service so I could do my work in the dining room.
Breakfast was great as was the room and they even had real Lancashire ales! Very good central location for the city. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent food and service from all staff. The rooms are immaculate and the beds very comfortable. Staff go out of their way to accommodate to your needs during mealtime and always have a smile on their faces

Popped in for lunch after a recommendation from the passkeeper at the cathedral. I had the chilli dog and my mum had the lemon chicken. Both meals were utterly exquisite. The hand cut chips were the tastiest I've had in years. The staff were mostly cheerful, apart from the girl who 'greeted' us upon arrival, but in only two days I've come to realise that everything they say about how miserable Lancashire people are is right on the money. Would highly recommend.

Stayed on a short break and did not disappoint..from start to finish staff the rooms and food, decor, location and atmosphere was ideal!! Would highly recommend and wouldn't think twice about booking this spot again great job guy's 👍🏻

Can’t recommend this place highly enough, rooms are comfy with lots of nice touches, eg fresh milk, White Company toiletries, great breakfasts all cooked freshly to order, no little plastic packs of butter etc and food at dinner was seriously good. Excellent value stay in a good location

Food and drink are always fantastic. Reasonably priced and great service. Indoor or outdoor seating. Great place.

Trusted the ratings, was not disappointed, right on the canal and near the walking street convenient to everything in town and great breakfast. Definitely a perfect location for visiting Lancaster would come back!

My friend booked us for my birthday treat. We had a 3 course meal which was excellent. Top quality food and a price to match. There were plenty of options on the menu to suit all budgets though including burgers.

We have stayed and eaten here, off and on, for a few years now. It may not be the cheapest place to do either, but undoubtedly the quality is worth the extra.

This year we have lunched twice during our visit to Lancaster and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food has been delicious. We fully intend to return for another lunch before we leave. The staff have been lovely and the food spot on - interesting and imaginative twists to some dishes, but other standard favourites. Beware the chicken burger: it's huge!

My wife is coeliac, which can be a pain when we dine out, but at the Toll House it is no problem and she feels like a 'normal person' due to the effort made to give her a good choice of menu options that are tasty and available without fuss. Top marks!

If there is any criticism I would say that the wine list is a tad(?) expensive.

Had a terrific one night stay and would definitely recommend to others. The staff make Toll House Inn what it is as they are so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and comfortable. We ate here and the food was great and reasonably priced. We hope to return soon as we enjoyed it so much

Stayed here for one night, hotel is centrally located just a few minutes from the centre, our room was very spacious, modern with all required facilities and spotless clean. We had dinner in the bar that evening, and it was delicious, as was breakfast the next morning. The breakfast options and quality were first class. All the staff from arrival to departure were super friendly and helpful would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Lancaster on a short break.
