Amazon Counter - Post Office Rugeley

This is our local post office, and since the new owners took over, the service has been awful. The lady behind the desk is incredibly rude—no pleasantries, curt answers, and constant eye rolls, making you feel like you're wasting her time. Many other reviews echo this sentiment.

The husband provides much better customer service and could teach her a thing or two.

Being in a customer-facing role, a smile goes a long way. It's outrageous that the Post Office allows this lady to represent their brand. Even though it's a privately owned franchise, the Post Office should recognise how negatively this reflects on them.

I have *never* left a one star review in over five years. If I could it would be 0 stars.

On Thursday 22nd August 2024 I visited the branch at 3pm to collect some deliveries from Amazon (they are an amazon counter) and some other items. I was greeted with a big red roller shutter down covering the whole of the shop. There was no note advertising the reason for the unscheduled closure.

I returned for a second attempt to collect on Saturday 24th August 2024 at 10:30. Everything was exactly the same, shutters down, no explanation.

Other customers came and went. On further enquiry I discovered that this is quite common and the sub postmasters opens and closes to suit her.

I choose the "main" post office in the town for collection because I trust them implicitly. I have had items delivered to other post offices in the country and had no problems whatsoever.

These subpostmasters are here to provide a vital service for the community. This shower failed me and by all accounts have been for the last two years. I have reported them to the PO.

I urge you to avoid at all costs and use the very nice postoffice counter in Bereton.

My my my what a rude lady works here. I heard that her language was appalling and totally unacceptable to my family member and has generated a complaint. Please remember to take a witness if you expect confrontation. I would have left no stars had that been an option. Someone needs to listen and read that this is a pattern that is going unmanaged.

I agree i went today the lady very rude is not the word she will be reported as i rung the head post office said what i wanted they said go to rugeley post office so off i went to renew my driveing lieance she said we dont do that well she is wrong the head office said i went to lichfield abd people were on about her in there people do not use rugeley post office nasty lady in the wrong job

This has to be the worst Post Office ever! The lady behind the counter was extremely rude and wouldn’t except my parcel return. I ended up going to the local Evri collection store and they were amazing. I advise you to never visit this establishment and I’ll never put any business their way. Very disappointing! Terrible service.

Worst experience ever, avoid this place ,very rude person at till, refused the service I asked for, when I asked the reason he asked me very rude to leave the branch.
