We have been taking our dogs to Arbury Road Vets for the past two years and have nothing but great things to say about them. We have seen a variety of their vets, and over the past year have seen Rob Loxley quite a bit to care for our 2 year old dog who has epilepsy and issues with reactivity. Rob is a terrific vet — despite him being constantly extremely busy and clearly overworked, he never makes us feel rushed, and is always extremely knowledgeable about any questions we have and sympathetic to our current situation. The reception staff have also always been extremely kind to us in helping us manage appointments for our reactive girl, which is really appreciated, as going to the vet with a reactive dog can be pretty stressful. We feel extremely grateful to have Arbury Road in our neighborhood and definitely feel they are a trustworthy and experienced practice

I can’t thank the team enough for saving my dog. My dog is 10 and was not spayed and had a mammal mass that needed removal. Rob and the lovely team of nurses (specially Simone)and receptionists were so patient with me explaining it all. When Rob and one of his vets recommended me to also spay my dog as she was going to be under anesthetiser, follow the suggestion saved my dog’s life. The ovaries were discovered with a rare cancer. Thanks to this amazing team it was not growing anywhere else yet, which gave opportunity to do Chemotherapy to my baby and hopefully it will stop or delay any potential spreading from blood vessels, as it got all removed with operation.
The kindness demonstrated by Rob and this amazing team supporting and giving all the information necessary, is something I haven’t seeing very often, and I have been in vets from 4 different countries and multiple cities.

*The video is my dog after surgery and 2 of the 6 chemotherapy sessions.*

Ps. If recommended, do spay your dog! This team will always recommend what is in the best interest of your pet.

Great and honest service. They are one of few uk vet that care about the pet not your bank account. Amazing vets!

In short, the best knowledgeable vets around.
I personally travel from huntingdon to here and won't let anybody else look at my animals. I have one dog and three cats and everytime any of them are here they look after them as if they are there own baby's.
Are they cheap? No there is no such thing as a cheap vet. But they are fair! These people are doctors for animals and the knowledge they have is far superior to what they charge. Honestly they are the best around and they will look after them with soo much care and passion. All the staff are so kind and understanding.

Robert Loxley is an outstanding vet! I am convinced that my 20 year old cat Daisy would have never reached her impressive age, had it not been for him - and her last years were certainly an uphill struggle shaped by a major stroke and towards the end blindness.
In all that time, Robert's focus was clearly on supporting Daisy as a family member, who - despite her stroke and blindness - seemed to very much enjoy her last years (clearly more than most humans).
This is not self-understood, as I have come across vets in other clinics who loved to run as many animal experiments as possible to maximize their profits. That is clearly not the case at Arbury Road Veterinary Surgeons, thanks to Robert Loxley.

Popped in for a health check for my x 2 Burmease cats. They needed flea and worming treatment and need to be seen once a year for these to be prescribed. Was seen by a wonderful veterinary nurse who was warm and welcoming. Great advice given. Good experience. She even helped me carry cats back to the car!

I would recommend this vets to anyone looking for a vet. It is such a nice friendly place. All the vets and staff I have met there have been so kind and caring. When my lovely dog was very ill and had to be put to sleep we couldn't have been in better hands. We even had a lovely condolence card sent to us with a packet of forget me not seeds included. I've never heard of this happening to anyone before. We now have another dog and we never hesitated to take him to this same vets.

I have been with Arbury Rd vets a very long time, really friendly staff, I recently had to have my cat Izzy pts,Rob Loxley the vet was amazing, he was so gentle and kind to Izzy as she went off to sleep, I wasn't rushed out the door, I was given time to spend with Izzy after her passing which I was grateful for, I highly recommend them.

Absolutely wonderful. The vet and nurse came to our house for our very poorly dog. They were both so kind,. ẞympathetic for us and gentle as they sent our friend to sleep painlessly. I thank them so much.
Would recommend this vets surgery extremely highly.

I took my little anxious cat to the Arbury Road for her annual vaccinations, and I was so impressed by how the vet handled her (I can't remember the vets name, sorry!). Buffy was handled gently and slowly, and with care, which I'm sure made her more relaxed (well...maybe not relaxed, just less terrified!)

We brought our new cat for a general check-up and neutering based on a recommendation from a friend. They are great! All the staff are really friendly and helpful, and I felt they genuinely cared for our cat and had no hesitation leaving her with them for her op.

Nice and kind local vet practice. Never had to go for anything serious, but have been for the occasional issue with a dog and they performed thorough checks before confirming nothing serious.

I’ve used this veterinary surgery for years and never had a bad experience. All the vets I’ve encountered have been professional, kind and caring. I brought my cat Mimi in last week and Annalisa saw her. She’s very kind, lovely with the cat and very reassuring. I loved the new Cat Clinic and the bereavement service. Thank you all for a brilliant service.

Took our furbaby to be spayed. She was very well cared for and staff were friendly. I have used this practice for many years and obviously trust my precious animals in their capable hands.

Can't praise them enough. I have visited twice now with my recently adopted elderly cat. They are calm, gentle and thorough with her and calm, gentle and reassuring with me. Both times I have been able to get a same day appointment. I am very grateful to have them as my local vet

Have found all staff very good, never feel rushed, Mr loxley is a very good surgeon, receptionist always makes a fuss of my nervous unpredictable dog to calm her down, reception area and carpark is small but never had a problem, prices ok

The most wonderful veterinary practice in Cambridge. I've been through tough times with my cats, having to accept some very bitter truths, but Rob Loxley is the main man, never gives you false hope and is always so ethical in his advice and recommendations. He also has a wonderful way with all my cats. All the staff are friendly and very caring - especially during the tough times. Cannot recommend this veterinary surgery highly enough.

Update: Simone Pace Alfonso the veterinary assistant is amazing. Really goes the extra mile. Absolutely wonderful with my pusso today who had disgraced herself in the carrier...not her fault, just fear! This gal is going to go far with her kind and caring attitude and brilliant levels of empathy and understanding.
