The Darien Meadow (named after one of the workers involved in building the Hobson's Brook conduit) is a small field situated on the north side of Long Road bridge and bordering the guided busway to the west. I have been going there since I was a little boy of just six years and it has always filled me with joy going on walks with my son through the long grass. The Darien Meadow holds a very special place in my heart and I will continue to treasure every passing second and moment that I spend there. The meadow serves as one of the entrances to the famed Hobson's Brook and also as a throughway from Long Road to the guided busway towards Cambridge Station. Hundreds of people use the beautiful space each day and it should be treated with respect and love as a place to contemplate the momentous engineering achievement of building the watercourse from Ninewells to Cambridge. Even though the brook was built in 1614, its significance can still be seen today.

Fantastic place for a dog walk and or a pleasant stroll with friends. Have been coming twice a week with my fiancé for almost two years now.

Lovely little place to let the dog off to have a run around. Only problem was Jesse found the spikeball and none of his toys were then good enough. We left the spikeball for the next person.
