I recently visited The Orator and had an excellent dining experience. The burger I ordered was hands down the best I've had in a long while—perfectly juicy and full of flavor. The chips were crispy and seasoned just right. The kids' meals were a generous size, and my little ones were more than satisfied. To top it all off, the kids ice cream with brownie for dessert, was a big hit with everyone at the table. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the portion sizes were spot on. Overall, a fantastic experience—I’ll definitely be coming back!

We had lunch at The Orator yesterday. Absolutely great. What a wonderful energy. The location is great. Bright, windows, very kind people, awesome food, incredibly pleasant experience. Thank you very much to all the work and energy to offer us this great experience. One person wanted the turkey dinner, another wanted a brisket burger, another friend wanted an awesome kale salad, and another wanted the open ravioli. Superb.

We hired a private room for a special birthday and everything was amazing, but most of all the staff were brilliant! Emily and Ben, thanks so
Much!

We visited the Orator for lunch yesterday and it was an amazing experience. My constant complaint about Cambridge is the lack of decent pet friendly restaurants which we have plenty of in Oxford (don't understand the reason why Cambridge restaurants are so hostile towards dogs) but The Orator was brilliant as we could take the pup in with us. The seating was plenty and the staff were very friendly. The facilities were clean and we were able to freshen up before lunch as we had a long day. We ordered a mix of dishes including burgers, chicken and pork on pita, sardines and vegetable sides which all came out quick. The overall cost was decent for a group of 5 and we had a good time. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place in the heart of Cambridge, can't believe I only just found out about it. We came in for dinner on a Friday night. The food was delicious and the prices were very competitive too. Charming building and absolutely beautiful garden. We ate inside and it was a bit stuffy on a hot summers day as there was no air conditioning. But we then continued with a few drinks outside in the garden and it was lovely. The only down point I will mention is the service outside - there were loads of tables with mountains of empty glasses on them and they weren't being taken away by the staff at all. We waited for a table to be cleaned but never got any service. We had to move the empty glasses ourselves and wipe the table down with wet wipes as it was very sticky.

Went here for new year's eve 2023. Booked about 2 weeks in advance. Set menu was amazing value (£36pp for 3 courses, an amuse bouche and glass of prosecco). Food was really nice, and the service was excellent. Will definitely be coming here again! The Bourgignone was amazing!

Dined here today on a visit to Cambridge, the staff were incredible, so attentive and friendly, they all handled my allergies amazingly, the chef came out and spoke through what they could produce for me and even suggested making something off of the menu so that I could eat, in the end they created a combination of two meals to make it suitable for my dairy, nut, and seed allergy! Felt so safe and looked after here when eating out is usually a stressful experience for me. Will 100% be visiting again when I’m next in Cambridge and recommend to anyone, especially those with allergies as the chef was amazing! Also cocktails were delicious, nice and sharp unlike some overly sweet ones you get these days, price point was great for the quality of the produce - made our day 😊

We’ve got 2 favourite bars in Cambridge. The Orator is one of them!
Nice chaps, and great cocktails they do.
10/10 for staff
10/10 for drinks
10/10 for prices!
Purely love the outside area, especially when sunny.
I normally don’t drink cocktails, but this time I’ve tried Point of Contention and I can say for my personal taste was great!

Stopped for a quick drink and sharing platter (x3 dips with flatbread) and loved it. Fantastic cocktails but only a few non-alcoholic (non-cocktail variety) drinks available. Building and location are stunning and a great beer garden. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Went for a pride night and had an amazing time, the drinks were really nice and the mocktails were great! Staff were super friendly and the drag act was perfect! It was really clean and a very well presented place, will go again.

We hired the private room at the Orator for a birthday bash. We started with cocktails in the main bar area and then came into the dinning room for dinner.

Some of the food timing could have been a bit better, but that did not detract from the night. The staff were very helpful and the evening was well orchestrated overall and enjoyable. People complimented the food - the ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and very tender.

A huge thanks to the staff who made sure we were taken care of!

Highly recommend for a lovely evening.

Really liked this place for an outdoor lunch on a beautiful sunny day in Cambridge. Friendly and attentive staff. The indoor section of the brasserie was also lovely. They have slightly different menus between the outside / bar area and the main section of the restaurant but both had lots of choice nonetheless. Would recommend if you are visiting Cambridge and are looking for an elegant lunch time spot (and I am sure it’s just as nice for dinner too)

What a wonderfully warm welcome; by Liz [I believe]. Friendly, professional, discreet, and just lovely really. Also Ellen and I think Melissa too. The hospitality all round was great. Including the time I popped in before and there was a chap at the bar. Plus a fab menu and delicious food. Looking forward to coming back many more times, not only to get to taste more of it, but as a regular place to meet up with friends. And then there’s the comfort and beauty of the place, which is also light filled with the almost floor to ceiling walls of windows, and has lighting that doesn’t give you a migraine. There’s even a lift should you wish/need to use one, making it easily accessible. A top dining experience. Highly recommend.

Just grabbed a quick beer here on a Wednesday night, but my friend and I loved the friendly service and the live music - which was chilled enough not to overpower the conversation - as well as the super-atmospheric outdoor area. We'll be back!

We had lunch at the dining part of the Orator and it was a delightful lunch! Food was of great standard, the plant based burger tasted amazing! I had a chicken schnitzel, which I was surprisingly very fond of, perfectly made without being too dry or hard! Also recommend the gazpacho soup :)

Went to the Orator with my wife. Well worth a visit. Biggest garden in Cambridge. Good food and drinks at a reasonable price.

Wonderful restuarant in a beautiful setting. Ella and Sophia looked after us and the food and service was fantastic. We intended to just have a quick meal but switched to the Christmas menu and made a celebration of it. The deep fried sprouts are amazing (no really. Try them). Thank you
