I always hire a wheelchair here to use during our annual stay in Bourton on the Water. Carol is so efficient and dealing with her is always a pleasure.

Used on regular basis over past four years with great success.manager always helpful and in recent covid times adaptable and covid secure.
Sadly due to staffing now not open at weekends but when wanting to hire equipment adaptable to picking up and returning.

Well, I have to say I was deeply touched by an out of this world kindness and so much care from a lady I have never met or spoke to before until today. I organised a visit for a community group to visit Birdland in Bourton on the Water - people who meet once a week and who would not normally go out on they own. I had a lady who is not too far from her 90th birthday, turned up for this trip unexpected not giving me time to sort out support for her to get around. I realised that she needed some form of walking support, so I asked if there was a wheelchair I could hire whilst wandering around the grounds of Birdland and also if we could hire the wheelchair to walk around the village and pay for the hire of the chair. I was told it would not be possible for the chair to be loaned to me, as the manager was not on duty. I pleaded with the lady on the reception desk to let me hire the chair because the elderly lady would not be able to manage to walk very far and it would make her very ill if she attempted walking too far. I had no joy - the answer was still no each time I pleaded with the staff to hire the wheelchair even though I said I would bring the chair back and leave some money behind as a guarantee. However I felt the staff at Birdland was very helpful as they gave me an telephone number to a mobility shop after I asked if they knew if there were a mobility shop in the area where I can hire a wheelchair. My phone had no signal and one of the ladies on the reception desk trying calling the mobility shop for me. Eventually I managed to get in touch with the shop and spoke to a really lovely person. I told her my problem with this lady and wondered if someone could bring the wheelchair to Birdland as I will have problems to get to the shop with the elderly lady. I was amazed how this lady was doing all she could do to make life easy for me. She said that she was in the shop on her own but will speak to her manager to see if they was anything she could do to help me. Believe it or not this lady who have never met me and did not know how genuine I was but kept her promise. She went that extra mile for me - closed the shop and brought the wheelchair to a location that was easy to get to and walking distance to pickup the wheelchair. How many would go to that trouble these days for a stranger.
I would love to give this lady a very big hug and kiss because she is one in a million. I didn't get this ladies name but all I can say she is a very lovely beautiful person. God bless you and I am ever so grateful for the help and kindness you gave and shown me.
