Barchester - Llys-Y-Tywysog Care Home

I am writing in behalf of Grovesend and Waungron Community Council of which I am the Clerk. Over the past couple of years we have been working with the care home and have found then to be very committed to everything they set out to do. The events they have been organising for the residents are brilliant and a lot of thought and planning is involved. The staff are kind, caring and responsible and always go that extra mile to make the residents feel happy in their home.

i’m currently on work experience. it’s such a lovely home and i’ve enjoyed the past 2 days. all the residents are very well looked after and always got something to do. i would recommend this home to anyone.

Went in to play the piano for a hymn sing-along. It was my first visit to Llys y Tywysog so I appreciated the professional yet friendly welcome from staff. Attention to safeguarding was evident. The home was clean, there were lots of team members at hand to help residents. It was an enjoyable visit.

I have many friends who have had family members in llys y tywysog , the care they receive is absolutely incredible , the activities are a pleasure to see on their web page . The home is always welcoming to the public on open days and very accommodating to the church members who really enjoy the coffee mornings . The atmosphere is so friendly and staff can't do enough to help ., it's always a pleasure to visit . Residents seem to enjoy a happy varied life at llys , well done to everyone .

I have recently visited with children from the local primary school to make links within our community. We had a fantastic welcome from staff and residents and lots of smiles were shared.... the children couldn't wait to return.
Such a lovely set up "it's like a posh hotel" were the words of one child. The range of activities for residents surpassed my expectations, as did the outside area and shared spaces.
A credit to all staff working there to allowing us to make friends with engaged, happy and relaxed residents. Thank you.

Llys y twysog is an amazing care home, every single resident is cared for to the highest standards, a professionally run and spotlessly clean home with a lovely atmosphere, always lots of activities to do and hair and beauty too, just a lovely care home overall

Such a welcoming environment, the staff were so friendly and attentive. Spotlessly clean, nice and spacious, with tasteful decor. Always wonderful activities offered to the residents.

Llys Y Tywysog is beautiful! It is so tastefully decorated and always immaculately clean. During my visits residents look happy and confident, and staff are consistently friendly, helpful and patient. There is a lovely calm vibe that makes you feel very welcome. Thank you!

I have resently visited here regularly as an outside professional. The home is always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful which made me feel very welcome. There are always a variety of activities for the residents to get involved in and the food looks amazing. I love the complimentary cakes and coffee at the entrance.

This week I had the pleasure of singing at this beautiful care home for the third time. The staff are so lovely and friendly and it is very obvious how happy and well cared for the residents are by them. Every time we have been the food and the presentation have been stunning and their activities and theme days are brilliant. I am really looking forward to going back to sing there

Lovely home, and the staff are exceptional. They create a friendly and living atmosphere. The residents seem happy and content. There is a wide variety of daily activities organised for them by the amazing Activities Co-ordinators..we are also made to feel welcome when we attend the home. Great job guys 👏

I love visiting Llys y twysog. The place is spotless and staff are amazing. There is such a warm and welcoming atmosphere there. The residents seem so happy and the staff genuinely appear to enjoy their jobs. A great place in every way.

This was more like a holiday than respite care. The food was delicious and creative, They have themed events, such as an American Independence Day celebration. This food was, as usual, first rate with typically American dishes (the pulled pork and cajun chicken were restaurant worthy dishes). this was followed by entertainment in the form of an Elvis tribute act, though he also sang some other songs from the 50s and 60s. All of the residents sang along. I had a room with a patio and ensuite which was worth every penny as I could watch the wildlife (various birds and squirrels) up close. I would not hesitate to come here again if I needed more care. The laundry and ironing service were a godsend and the hair salon every Tuesday was very good value. A podiatrist also visited when I was there, which I was very pleased about, as she removed hard skin and cut my nails which I had been unable to reach to do myself. They are open to suggestions you make and your visiting guests are also made to feel very welcome with cups of tea or coffee, cakes and biscuits available to all. Some guests even attend meals. All in all, though expensive, this was worth every penny, Thanks you to all of the staff for making me feel so cared for and welcome.

My mother has been in Llys y Tywysog the past 6 months and is so happy and settled here. The home has a lovely atmosphere and always smells fresh and is kept exceptionally clean. The staff are very friendly and genuinely look so happy to be working there. The quality of life provided with daily activities and entertainment is second to none. My mum has also been taken on a number of outings, including The Botanical Gardens, Tenby and Porthcawl. The food provided is amazing, my mum looks so happy and healthy since being here and always tells me how lucky she is to live in such a lovely place.

We're entertainers who visit homes all over South Wales and found Llys Y Tywysog to be very friendly and welcoming. Residents are well cared for and happy. Looking forward to our next gig there , Dave & Dai 🎶

Visited the home today for a meeting and had a lovely, warm welcome. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating and the meeting room was fantastic - would recommend.
