Peter Mennim

My knowledge of Peter goes a long way back when I visited his fathers home at Sutton On the Forest near York many times. Peter was then a grown up schoolboy.. His father was an architect, as I am, with a practice in that city but Peter did not wish to join him, instead he wanted to paint and went off to India to learn his undoubted skill. Back in this country again permanently his portraiture work (one of the most difficult mediums) are quite the most remarkable I have ever seen, especially groups. Each individual is painted with astonishingly accuracy - such one could almost mistake them for a colour photograph. I am certain that his reputation will grow and grow. Rex Johnson Dipl.Arch.
