Town and Gown

This pub is one of those hidden gems in town. Great food? It could be better. Great beer options? Again, it could be better. But if you have run out of options and just want a place to sit, drink and dine with a laid back feel and nice ambience, this is one of those places.

P.S. They have a nice little "secret" terrace too.

I booked the Town and Gown for my friends Hen Party and what a night we had!

I enquired to the Assistant Manager Jada over email, asking what she could offer us and she gave me brilliant customer service from the start!

She helped me plan my friend’s Hen and made it really special. There were decorated bottles of Prosecco in ice buckets on the tables and the Bride had a dessert brought out to her that had “Congrats” written in chocolate on the plate.
The food and drinks were amazing and we had a brilliant view for the live singer!

Honestly couldn’t fault any of the service from the team and Jada made it that extra special for us!

Lovely food, great choice of meals and drink, including draught beers. Food presented lovely and delicious, good price for the portions.Friendly staff. The best thing about the place is atmosphere. Plenty of tables, downstairs and upstairs and some outside as well.

Came in for a late Sunday lunch and was really impressed. As we walked around the family tried to sway us to go to one of the chains, but so glad we came here. Servers were so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and able to accommodate our requests with little ones. Worth a visit for sure.

Top floor with balcony is a great little haunt for corp events with own bar.

Venue in general is very well kept with a cooler attitude which is less common in the centre of the city. Go here if you want to actually talk to the people you are with in the later hours.

Brilliant Mcmullens pub/theatre/events venue. A quite new opening (2020) converted from a bar and before that an arts cinema. Has that unique theatre bar feel. Full range of Mcmullens beers etc. Lots of varied seating spaces and levels. Love the shuffle puck table, spent an hour playing on it a big plus for the pub. 👍 from Matty x

Great atmosphere!
My wife and I had a great evening at The Town and Gown. The food and cocktails were great quality and a generous size too. The staff were really friendly and the vibe of this unique place was relaxed but fun. The fun element was enhanced by the show we saw - absolutely hilarious. I love the combination of being able to eat, drink and be merrily entertained by a fringe-type show. I look forward to spending more evenings h=there

We didn't try the food, but the shuffleboard and drinks were great! I love the barrel pods, they are unique and create a private yet social area

Large and spacious pub with many things to do. We had a blast playing shuffleboard till closing. Didn’t try the food but would come back!

Very Impressed with this new pub in the old Arts Cinema in Cambridge. Good table service. Tasty food with very generous portions. Good selection of ales and comfortable surroundings. All at very reasonable prices for the city centre.

Lovely space for a drink with friends. I rarely drink nowadays and just had a tonic but it was beautiful. My friends had a gin and tonic and a Prosecco.

I can’t speak for the food as we only stopped for a drink, but this place has a really good vibe and I would definitely go back again and try the food as it looked great. Massive thanks to the guy who chased us down to return the sunglasses I had left on the table too. Hero!

We had a great time this past weekend at Town and Gown!

Had a fantastic meal at the Town and Gown back in October. Staff very helpful and the general vibe of the place was amazing (loved the pianist on the Sunday). Really want to come back and check out the rest of the menu, plus I need to see some live theatre here!

I come here so often I love it! Brought my amazing American friend today and she was blown away by the treacle tart (as suggested by our amazing waitress Jada)

Really nice place. We had lunch for 6, the food was very good. Wide choice of drinks. I recommend it.

Atmosphere was super cool ...very clean and polite service...games included within....vibrant looking all round..quality looking food although I didn't eat wasn't hungry...5*****

Amazing pub and theatre concept, great interior design and a 90s atmosphere with amazing food and drinks, great managers and a exciting workplace. Definitely a great place for a afternoon meal or a evening drink. Defo recommend the Mojitos.

The Sunday roast dinners are absolutely amazing. Whilst being in the UK I have visited twice just to eat this Sunday roast.

We stopped by for a quick drink to shelter from the rain. There's nice and cosy seating downstairs, and the bar looks great. The cocktails were nice
