Lovely traditional department store. Hooray for simplicity of being able to browse ,try on ,shop for lots of different things, and have a snack and drink in Lovely surroundings, along with lovely, plesent staff. Bring back traditional shops.

So glad Beales has reopened and has a cafe too, Remedy has one of their cafes inside Beales on the ground floor with seats going into Wayfarers Arcade a great little cafe. I love the new arrangement. Ladieswear on ground floor, make up and perfume to the left of entrance. Handbags are there too. Love the different Ladieswear from small businesess in the town and Churchtown..Plaza cards have a place too on the 1st floor they're back with chinawear, figurines and pool pottery as well on the 1st floor with bedroom items too. 2nd floor has Molloys furniture looking good and the loos are there too in their usual place. The lift around the corner is working by the staff room for a few weeks now, they really should have a notice saying the other lift is in order most poeple dont realise and keep complaining they have to climb stairs due to the main lift not working. I have to use lift and have visited those floors on the other lift. The watch repairs have returned, shoes too plus lots of great surprises in store. This was updated 19 Oct 2021

This is a review for Catherine in Lucy Lou's Boutique, really helpful, must of tried on a dozen dresses, in the end went for one of her suggestions, pitty not more shops are as attentive!

Good selection of goods, there is a craft in the Arcade on Saturday & Sunday 12 & 13 August and a lovely cafe.

This is a brilliant shop, it has really nice women's clothes, different from a normal chain store. The building is old so the shop interior is interesting again different from the norm. It has a good Household department, a small cafe & menswear. A nice shopping experience.

Went in to buy a dress, but my size was not available in the design I wanted, a staff member told me of a shop near-by who also stock the dress. A visit to other shop and they had my size in.

Not been to Southport shopping since before lockdown. As with almost every other town more shops empty on lord Street. But it was nice to see one come back to Lord Street "Beales" use to love shopping here in the old Beales. Quite surprised to see the different ladies clothes range they have in store. Well impressed with all the brands they have in, also a very nice cafe too for a break from shopping. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Southport.

I'm so glad that this store has survived. There are quite a few franchises within it, with a wide range of good quality, yet reasonably priced products. We very much enjoyed our shopping experience and have continued to enjoy our purchases since.

Great traditional department store.

My wife purchased a really nice blouse in Beales at a very reasonable price and had a most enjoyable hot chocolate and coffee together with a delicious piece of cake in the cafe, so a most pleasant visit to Beales

Not quite the top-shelf store it used to be, it now been taken over by Beales.
However it now sells a far bigger variety of items, as well as the usual items you find in a traditional department store it now stocks electrical items, toys, luggage and bags etc., has nice clean toilets and even a cafe.
Some of the prices are really keen, cheaper than Argos and similar stores on some items, the store has a nice traditional feeling to it, lovely friendly staff, and all in all I enjoyed my visit, and bought some beautiful bedding and a cordless iron, both a a really great price.
Well worth a look.

Lots of different sections you have to be prepared to have good look around. It's very compact clothing area. Brilliant selection I was buying for my mum birthday

Great to have Beales back. A great store with lots of variety for everyone. The coffee shop at the back does great drinks too, coffee is to die for. Staff are welcoming and the store is well kept and clean.

Wonderful traditional Department Store. Extensive range. Always lovely dresses and clothes in Ladies Department. Toys Gents and children's sections kitchen ware. Always things of interest. Competitively priced. Sale on at moment and some terrific bargains Part of it extends into Wayfarers Arcade which is worth a visit in its own right

Sadly shutting down but gives a taste of old world department store shopping. A lovely building with a well set out clothing, perfumes and household departments. Might be the last chance to grab a bargain before the doors close for the last time.

Always enjoyed visiting the store, and picking something nice. Sad to hear about the possible demise of the chain, as I especially love the Bournemouth store when visiting family. Let's hope there's a rescue and they can maintain the brand.
