Lovely cafe, friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast. I’ve eaten here a number of times, the large veggie breakfast is fab and comes with an oatcake. The homemade soup is tasty too! Will be back again soon.

Delightful little place, was struggling to find somewhere in Matlock dog friendly that wasn’t rammed during school half term. This was perfect!!! Good price and great food. Thank you Matlock cafe!!! If unsure, go for it.

Called in here with the wife, mum and 2 dogs whilst spending the day on the peak rail. Food fab, service quality and staff very friendly. Can’t recommend this cafe enough. If you want a proper home cooked meal in a relaxed environment this is the place. If we ever come to Matlock again we will definitely be coming back here.

What a lovely cafe and lovely owners. The atmosphere here is great. The food is homemade and really good comfort food. The cottage pie and burgers were great! Exceeded our expectations of a quick lunch. We were looking for a small business rather than a chain and we are so happy we chose this place. The owners here are so kind and that made it all the better. Stop off here and eat some great homemade food!

Wonderful place to have breakfast. Very friendly service and they made us feel welcome as soon as we entered the door. Food was really tasty and very good value. We recommend this place to everyone.

My partner and I stumbled on this cafe while walking through Matlock before a football game and we enjoyed every moment. I'm a vegetarian, and the big veggie breakfast was delicious and well worth the price. My first time trying an oatcake as well. My partner went for the scampi and chips which was a decent portion and served steaming hot just as she likes it. The host was happy to show me the separate area the vegetarian dishes are cooked in, even though this isn't something I'm fussed over, I appreciated the care that goes into providing a decent meal for someone with a different diet. Easily recommend to anyone in Matlock for the day.

I couldn’t give more stars. I would give them all! Me and 5 others were bracing ourselves for a long day hiking and I was having my fingers crossed we’ll find seats inside on a Saturday morning. We were welcomed and the staff were happy to see us! I instantly felt like at home. Lovely food, great atmosphere. It will be the cafe I will always return when in Matlock. I had a “Breakfast 2”, perfect for big eaters :p

Nice little cafe - Good food and very friendly staff.

Really nice ‘caff’, pretty unique in Matlock which mostly has tea shops serving tea and cakes or trendy bistro type lunch places. This is a place serving good home made British grub at a great price. Menu was good - lots of specials like bangers and mash, sausage casserole, stew and Sundays they do a roast for less than a tenner. We had an all day breakfast and a toastie - both were really hearty and fresh. Owner was a lovely guy, service was great. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely first class. From warm welcome on entering to the first class breakfast. Would definitely go back and recommend to everyone.

Wandering around Matlock and came across this little gem, to find a place like this in and among all the bistros and chain coffee shops is a rarity, what I'd call a 'proper cafe', just had coffees and a bacon sarnie, which was cooked perfectly, but they had a fantastic range of specials at great prices which looked fantastic and the staff were really friendly and welcoming 👍👍👍

This place was great, the proprietor couldn't have been nicer and was willing to adapt the menu to your liking. Even though I only had a english breakfast everything was cooked to perfection.

A great little cafe for breakfast, lovely food and staff. Food came very fast and a good price. The signs on the wall are very funny and the decor is very good. One downside is that we had to pay with cash but other than that it's a great cafe 😁

Nice cafe, took care to wipe tables. Had a nice meal quickly prepared even though they were busy. Not very exotic food but if you just like normal everyday lunch them it's fine.
