James at Black Goo created 4 beautiful and delicious cakes for our wedding. We worked together on the flavours and meeting all the dietary requirements with him and then he kept us in the loop as the day arrived. Our guests were raving about our cakes saying they'd never tasted anything so good! Thank you thank you thank you!

What a wonderful little place! I surprised my wife and 9mth old baby for my wife’s birthday for brunch this morning, all I can say is wow. All of the staff were so friendly, and the brunch was amazing! They had a high chair for the baby which was great, and the atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming. Service was great, food was great, drinks were great, no complaints at all from us. And an amazing extra that we weren’t expecting,
My wife got a free slice of cake for her birthday, so lovely. We went for the special, a Biscoff brownie. Oh my god… sublime! Can’t wait to come back again soon ☺

Just passing through and we got lucky and found Black Goo! Fabulous place, we sat near kitchen pass and watched plate after plate of tasty food leave the pass in a timely fashion. We had a full goo breakfast and Mac and Cheese. The breakfast was fantastic, all good quality ingredients well cooked enjoyed all of it very much. My wife had Mac 'n' Cheese, again very tasty... little stronger Cheese would make it perfect. The cakes are just splendid and approx 1 trillion calories and worth every one of them. Will definitely go back again.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere, staff were lovely and went above and beyond! Really warm and friendly environment. The gluten free cakes are phenomenal. We live quite far away, but make an effort to visit this place every few months, as it is a fabulous place!

It will seem odd to give 5 stars to a restaurant when the cake I had was such a disappointment but Black Goo is that rare place; a restaurant where the staff and the atmosphere is so pleasant that
it makes dry, tasteless sawdust sponge seem an acceptable price to pay. Plus the Bucks Blend tea is fantastic and it's served in a teapot giving you two cups.
The staff were so attentive, friendly and busy. They are an asset.
That I was there when a party was
celebrating a birthday was a delightful backdrop and evidence that Black Goo's strength lies in its atmosphere.
So go, have a pot of tea and appreciate the excellent staff and enjoy the atmosphere.

Lovely, attractive cafe that is well-equipped to maintain social distancing with nicely decorated perspex screens between tables. Their afternoon tea was simply sensational. I have never been beaten by an afternoon tea, but this one was so enormous that I had to take some bits home. The sausage rolls and scotch eggs were really delicious and there was an abundance of lovely sandwiches that were quite different to a regular afternoon tea (coronation chicken, falafel...). The cakes were lovely and scones were as big as your face! The staff were very attentive and made sure we could get the most out of bottomless experience. They were in no hurry to get rid of us either! Highly recommended

Black goo is better than goo(d)!
This place is brilliant for a quick drink or cafe meet-up. I stopped on a cycle and just got a coffee but this was served quickly by friendly and attentive (but not overly so) staff. The cake slices were massive and could easily be shared but there was the largest range of options I think I’ve seen in any cafe. Prices are on the high side (£3.80 for a small black americano coffee), but it’s nice to support a local business.

I've been to Black Goo a few times now and I've always thoroughly enjoyed the food and my time there. The staff are very friendly, caring and attentive. They are careful to check for allergies and intolerances. Today they went the extra mile when we ordered cake to check if it was for a gluten free family member. We had half goo cooked breakfasts which were delicious. My latte and tea was lovely too... we loved the sweet little house tea pot! The selection of cakes is great and they quite magnificent! They offer a great variety and they are absolutely huge - great to share or take home in a box for later or to share with the family! I would highly recommend this lovely cafe - but, a bit of advice, if you're planning on having cake, do allow enough time to browse the selection as it could take a while to decide!

Nipped in today as I saw gluten-free on the cakes in the window. Decided to give the cherry Bakewell cake and a Nutella brownie thing a go. They were delicious me and partner preferred the cake but both were lovely. I will be going back for sure waist line permitting

Great ice cream milkshakes, not too sweet which I like! Brilliant attentive staff even though they're so busy.

Came for bottomless brunch for the first time and we’re not from round here. Was very busy so the initial service was understandably slow but the staff definitely made up for it later on. They were attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. The breakfast was amazing and the cakes are next level, would definitely recommend :)

Last week a group of us cycled from Marlow to Black goo to celebrate a friends birthday. We were welcomed with a complimentary glass of bubbles each and the food and customer service was excellent. Needless to say it was a struggle to get back on the bikes to cycle back to Marlow after the nosh up 😋... We will be back!!! 😊

What a great find, fabulous for breakfast, dinner and so much more!

With some great vegan and veterinarian options, not withstanding the most wonderful range of cake...

Hard to find a reason not to visit, and very much on the food map of Thame, I cant wait to pop back....

And I did today, 28th April 2023 ... Still amazing...

It was very lovely, staff where very nice its alot nicer when they ask you how your day is and when they are more chatty as alot of bosses wouldnt allow that its alot more welcoming than other places where you feel rushed to order after a couple minute. Fab staff!!
