Michael was extremely pleasant and very helpful throughout our fire installation and really went out of his way to make sure that we managed to achieve exactly what we were hoping for. He is knowledgeable and an expert at what he does and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. Michael fitted our bespoke fireplace and we are delighted with it! He was friendly and helpful throughout. On the day of the installation, he worked tirelessly. The finished product is absolutely perfect. Michael cleared up carefully afterwards and took every bit of rubbish away with him - so thoughtful. Highly recommended.

Michael has recently installed a bespoke Portuguese Limestone fire surround and two fitted alcove cupboards in our lounge. The workmanship is exemplary. Michael is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced craftsman, who patiently answered all our questions and dealt with unforeseen issues without fuss. He was always punctual and went the extra mile to make sure the job was completed on time to an exceptional standard. We have just had 2 multi fuel stoves (Firefox 8 & Firefox 5 ) expertly fitted by Vesta of Upper Aughton Road and would like to commend Michael Sykes for the excellent level of service provided.
Prior to selecting Michael, we did our research and had 3 Separate estimates for the work we required, Michael stood head and shoulders above the others. His knowledge and experience shone through and given he had carried out many log burner installations in our area, he was able to overcome a couple of really difficult issues that only came to light once the fireplace chambers had been broken into. We are extremely pleased with the end result and would recommend Michael and his company without hesitation.
There is no hiding from the fact that there is a lot of mess and disruption having stoves fitted and obviously we will have to redecorate but we knew this would be the case and while not wishing the summer away, we are looking forward to enjoying the stoves being lit and providing both physical heat along with the visual effects a real fire bring.

Michael installed a cast iron fire and tiled hearth for us recently and made us a bespoke wooden fire surround. I would recommend him highly. We sent him a picture of a fire surround we really liked and he made one even better for us. Quality craftsmanship and installation, very nice guy and knowledgeable. 5*

I asked Michael to fit a register plate on our large fireplace at fairly short notice. Nothing was too much trouble. All the options were explained to me in detail. The work was done in such a bespoke way that it made our future plans for having a burner fitted much easier. From my experience so far I would not hesitate to recommend him to others. It's great to see a local business take so much care when dealing with their customers.

Update to review (April 2018)
Mike fitted a multi-fuel burner for us recently. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The work, like his previous job, was done to a high standard. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

We had our new made to measure hearth installed by Mike and we are really pleased with the results. Mike is friendly, professional and highly skilled in his workmanship. Mike worked really hard to put right a very poor previous instalation which was deemed dangerous by an inspector. We now have peace of mind and a beautiful fire Place, highly recommended.

Mike has recently finished a Woodburner double sided " Firebelly" stove which has certainly added another dimension to our living space.

We valued his experience with breaking through 2 fireplaces and understanding how to deal with structural integrity so that not only does it look good but we know the project is sound.

We'd highly recommend his friendly service.
