Not much to see of the Medieval old castle. Just a small island in the middle of a lake. But saying that, the location is good for a relaxing walk and to excercise close to the town centre. I walk past here regularly when in Llanelli and it is a nice place to traverse. There is a sign board near the bridge, which is just readable.

Nice walk around the lake 🙏 this castle mound can be seen today in pond twym once the reservoir of the old castle works, people's park Llanelli. The castle may have been established in the 1090s and attacked by Rhys ap gruffudd in 1190 and Rhys leuanc in 1215. The building of the motte-and bailey castle was the first tactic of the invading Norman's in Wales 🙏🏴??????

Don't expect to see a castle, but you will feel closer to nature. I would recommend taking a walk around the lake during lunch break or if in need of fresh air for 5 minutes or so. Much ambience in the fog this weekend :)
