I could not recommend any place better to stay!

Nick and Lydia are so lovely and welcoming and pay attention to detail. I felt right at home and the bedroom was gorgeous and had a lovely view, there were even some homemade cookies in my room that were delicious.

The guestbook in my room had a lovely list of restaurants and tells you about the history of the town.

The breakfast was honestly the highlight of my stay! So many options and the food was delicious. Everything was just fantastic and I would honestly come back just to have breakfast again.

I’ve never stayed in such a perfect hotel, arrived to be greeted by Nic in the car park, walked into a very well presented room with a couple of cookies waiting.
Breakfast included with a great menu. The best food and host ever. Honestly the best hotel and host I’ve ever had.

Nick and Lydia have a beautiful place here, with fabulous views out the front of the house to the Wye valley, and a lovely garden view out the back. Their breakfasts really are amazing, I had the Avocado toast, with poached egg and sesame crunch, it was top notch and to be expected with Nicks cheffing history, 3 AA rosettes! A lovely couple, and a welcoming peaceful place to stay. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you for your hospitality, and I hope to see a Honda Hornet parked out the front when I'm next passing ;-)

Amazing hosts and facilities, rooms were superb and homely and the breakfast was amazing. Stayed here just one night as part of a planned bike tour but will be looking for an excuse to return. Need to mention the homemade cookies also provided in the rooms - scrummy!

The best Bed & Breakfast I have ever stayed at. Owners are lovely people named Nick and Lily. You can tell how much the owners take pride and care in their job, everything was well organized. Homemade cookies were in the rooms, and they are some of the best cookies I have eaten, you can even purchase extras if you ask nicely. Breakfast is included, the Full Welsh was very delicious. The location is quiet and peaceful. Seriously if you want an amazing weekend, stay here.

I had a great stay at The Cedars. Nick and Lydia are the loveliest people, very welcoming and accommodating. Considering I completely forgot to let them know I'm vegan ahead of time, they managed to prepare a delicious breakfast without making me feel like a nuisance. 100% would recommend

We are walking the Wye Valley Walk and Celtic Tours booked us into Cedars. How lucky were we? Nick and Lydia are amazing hosts who really care about providing the ultimate guest experience - from the very comfortable, clean and stylish rooms; the sinfully delicious cookies in the room; the lovely lounge enhanced by not only the great array of drinks but the great conversation; and a breakfast to die for. Welsh Rarebit has never tasted this good! As we were walking the next day, Nick made us an amazing packed lunch (in truth, gourmet picnic). Wonderful local history too!

A real welcome in the hillsides.

From the time we arrived with a friendly welcome to the time we left stuffed full of excellent breakfast we had a great stay.

The owners are a fantastic young couple: enthusiastic, helpful, energetic and real people people. They obviously care about you and are not just in it for the money. The property has plenty of character, is clean, well presented and comfortable. If you are lucky you will have a room with a view of their lovely garden, if not you'll just have to put up with a view of the beautiful Welsh countryside.

This guesthouse is easy to find and there is plenty of off-road parking.

This is a traditional guesthouse so rooms tend to be cosy rather than spacious but there are lots of nice little touches such as the delicious homemade biscuits with the usual tea and coffee.

Breakfast is included, cooked to order. There are plenty of options but we went for the full Welsh which was perfectly cooked and made from locally sourced produce.

The acid test - would we stay there again? Absolutely, in fact we are looking for reasons for a second visit.

What a fantastic welcoming friendly host, with superb food. The place was clean, near to walks. Our room was a smaller twin but it would be perfect to come back with the children. The room had the most stunning homemade biscuits as a treat, what a lovely touch. Thanks for a great stay!

What a great find! Nick and Lydia are the perfect hosts - friendly and welcoming.

The bedroom, bathroom and entire house is spotless and great value for money. Tastefully decorated throughout - I especially appreciated the many house plants dotted around.

Breakfast is 5 stars, Nick is excellent chef more than happily catered to my vegan dietary requirements and absolutely smashed a delicious plant based breakfast.

Would highly recommend and would most certainly stay again.

Just had an excellent stay at the cedars. Firstly I will start with the accommodation, so clean tidy and fresh. Secondly the hosts, absolutely brilliant so welcoming and polite. And finally the breakfast, WOW! All those years chefing are so worth it. I will be back again just sample nicks cooking and see some more of the great little town. We'll worth the visit and I highly recommend

THE PATIO COFFEE DRINKERS

Hi Lidya and Nick we had a lovely stay at your B&B. You offered a warm welcome . You were friendly, great chatting to you. The b&b is very clean and good decor. Lovely room. Brilliant breakfast. Enjoyed the coffee on the patio. Good walking distance from the town. Will book again when over that way.

I cannot fault The Cedars at all, despite only staying for one night for work commitments in Builth Wells. The whole of the guest house is clean, fresh and tidy, a credit to Nic and Lydia who only took over the business late last year. The room I was shown had everything you needed for an overnight stay and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was fantastic, with locally sourced produce that tasted lovely and set me up for the day. I liked the little details such as the handmade biscuits in a jar and the small bottle of fresh milk for the tea in my room...lots of attention to detail to make your stay away from home that little bit more enjoyable. If I'm working in the area again I will definitely be booking The Cedars again.

Stayed here for our first night of motorbike tour, Nick (the owner) came out to greet us and welcome us in, really nice bloke
Rooms was clean and adequate, I had to share a bathroom which was a floor below me but that wasn't a problem for me.
Nick and his wife were welcoming and happy to have a chat, good knowledge of local area too. Had a small bar with bottled beers. Great location with The main town only a few mins walk away with shops, bars restaurants etc.
Breakfast was awesome and plentiful, all in all a great stay, will definitely go back. Well done Nick and your wife!
