Lovely Old Spoons. Not suitable for disabled to stay as rooms upstairs. Lovely Old building. Food very good and fast.Free coffee all day for guests. Staff efficient and friendly. Excellent outside terrace and beer gardens right on the river. Free car park for hotel guests. Town centre and near Abbey.

I can’t speak to the lodging, as I didn’t see a room but visited the pub, had two meals and multiple pints over several days during an early summer visit to Tewkesbury.
The service was good and attentive, the beer and ale perhaps too good - as on my second visit I left behind a small backpack. In the morning, the reception staff had located the lost item and graciously returned it with a smile.
The garden out back is an absolute delight - with multiple spaces and table configurations as it slopes down across brick patio to grass field closest to the Mill Arm of the Avon.
Access from the front, or from the foot path that runs along the Mill arm and which provides easy access to the car park. Dogs welcome, centrally located to the Cathedral and High street.

This place is heaven on earth! An old coaching inn, beautifully kept in keeping with its origins and beautifully maintained beer gardens on the banks of the river Avon . It is at the heart of a small town with the most beautiful minster, which is worth a visit.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is good and hot, and the beer is reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and accommodating, and I couldn't praise the place highly enough.

The picture is sunset from the beer garden!!

A regular lunch spot for us. Great selection, including healthy options... I like their Ramen noodle bowl with chicken.
Nice to sit in the garden in the summer. The friendly staff bring the food out to your table in no time... Very quick service.

I was a stranger in the town, and was advised to try The Royal Hop Pole. It was busy, and I discovered why it was so popular - good food, great prices and very friendly and helpful staff. Good car park and lots of outdoor space too. No

We had a quick stopover in Tewkesbury to visit the Cathedral while on our way to Stonehenge.
Could not believe just how flooded the area was and had been over the past few weeks
Looking for a friendly place to have a relaxing evening in we found this place
and Without a doubt it's one of the best Wetherspoons we have had the pleasure to visit.
Lovey building with lots of History
Great fast efficient service from polite and pleasant staff.
Plenty of areas to sit in with a very mixed aged clientele you just need to have a quick walk through to see for yourself and then decide where you are going to be sitting.
Lots of outside areas.
Price wise it's a Wetherspoons so always good value for branded drinks
Food looked good and very well presented.
Tables cleared and cleaned quickly.
This time we only popped in for a drink however we will be returning for a meal when we are back in the area.

Probably one of the best located Spoons I've ever been in. The gardens go right down to the river Avon. Lots of space outside with plenty of tables/benches. Situated in the centre of Tewkesbury, this is an ideal spot for a drink and a meal, or an overnight stay, plus it's very close to the Abbey.
The food, drink and service were impeccable on our visit. Establishment kept clean, including the toilets. Highly recommended.

Historical building in a great location in the centre of town. Nice little bedroom with a good firm mattress. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Stuart went above and beyond to help me when I realised on Sunday evening that I had forgotten my cufflinks. He went back to his house to collect some of his and let me borrow them. What a hero.

We had a really nice meal here.the food was great staff very friendly and helpful, it was the cleanest wetherspoons we have been to the staff were cleaning up as soon as people were leaving, and very attentive, will be going back for sure,it's a pity all wetherspoons weren't like this one ,they deserve recognition for there work in Tewkesbury

Brilliant
I’m not sure what Wetherspoons do that other restaurants are seemingly incapable of.
Nice, plentiful, appetising food. Served quickly. Cheap.
At a lot of restaurants you are doing well if you get ONE of those three, let alone two. But with Wetherspoons I routinely get all three and the RHP is no exception

I love this place to go and have something to eat. The best part is that in the food price you can choose a drink too, or for a bit extra an alcoholic drink. Food is nice too. And if it is nice outside beautiful back garden is waiting for you.

We had a lovely weekend break staying at The Royal Hop Pole Hotel. The hotel and pub are part of the Weatherspoons group. The location is excellent on Tewkesbury high street but with a lovely large beer garden backing on to the river. The room was very clean and comfortable with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water. The bed was very comfortable with the on suite bathroom having a large bath with overhead shower. Lots of clean soft towels were provided. The food and drink were excellent quality at the usual competitive Weatherspoons price. The bar area does get busy of a late afternoon and evening at the weekend. The hotel reception staff were welcoming and friendly as were the barstaff. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Free parking is provided for hotel guests. Only downside was the free WiFi was a bit hit and miss at times.

Fantastic Wetherspoons. Food is as expected, the same as other restaurants in the chain but the building and location give this place 5 stars. Excellent period building, well maintained, next to the river with a large garden.
