Makes a great stop on the way to, or way back from, Alton Towers. Easy parking over the road near the river. Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating staff. Really excellent food with generous portions that we all very much enjoyed. Sure we will be back.

Absolutely stunning food and service by a girl who has long blond hair . The food was exceptional and tasted so lovely. The only thing I felt bad about was that they couldn't take tip on card as they would be taxed and I didn't have any cash so I felt terrible as she deserves a big tip!

This is a very cosy and welcoming pub with the smells of the open fire. We absolutely love it.

Used the restaurant. Lovely setting, really friendly staff and absolutely gorgeous food. Nice little country pub / restaurant feel, really clean. So helpful with food intolerances too with gluten free (soft!) buns and gluten free batter for the lovely crispy onion rings! Burgers were really juicy too! Found by accident after leaving Alton Towers, but will be going back there next time!

We stayed overnight at this wonderful hotel and restaurant with our 3 year old daughter to celebrate my partner’s 40th birthday. It was amazing from start to finish, the attention to detail, quality and rustic charm of the room with an amazing view and a really luxury feel.
Nothing was too much trouble, our evening meal was just delicious and breakfast the next morning delightful. Our daughter even got a little chocolate treat from the staff when we left!
We were heading to Alton Towers water park the next day and decided against staying at AT due to previous bad experiences of the food at the hotels there. So so glad we found this little gem of a place! Only 6 minutes drive to Alton Towers the next morning, arrived fresh, fed and well rested for a full run day at the water park!
Would 100% recommend this place and will definitely return again for future visits to the area.

Meeting family halfway and chose restaurant at random but what a great restaurant, an absolute must! The food was truly delicious, could not fault anything at all. Some of us had the festive Christmas menu, others had normal menu and EVERYTHING was delicious! The lamb stew was amazing 🤤 I am still dreaming about it! Staff were really nice and very accomodating too, made us all giggle and feel really welcome! Decor is lovely too. We had a really great evening - just lovely! Thank you! Will definitely be back 😊

The best pub meal for years. Great attentive staff, lovely homely surroundings and the food, wow, it was amazing. We had the fish sharing platter - 5 huge fish fillets, 10 squid pieces, witebait, fish cake and a prawn and smoke salmon salads with crusty rolls. It was massive, full of flavour and really fresh. My daughter had a beautiful rustic lasagna with triple fried chips. Just wonderful. We hadn’t booked but they sneaked us in. Thank you staff and owner, you should be proud. Andrew

Excellent service, beautiful food, not the cheapest out there but definitely worth a little extra. Generous portions, we didn’t order starters due to time constraints but we were well satisfied with just a main course. They also have a beautiful beer garden, one of the nicest I’ve seen. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful food in a beautiful quant little restaurant!! We dined here for my nieces 21st birthday, it was a last minute reservation for 6 of us… The staff were very attentive, polite and professional… the food was amazing, not one complaint from any of us… We loved the traditional style with modern twist.. Will definitely visit again when we’re in the area… Thank you so much guys for a wonderful meal ❤

Our first time here after many recommendations. Booked for a family dinner for our son’s 18th. The best food we have eaten in a while. Extremely tasty and seasoned to perfection - always a good sign when you don’t have to add more salt and pepper! Portion size so generous and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend the king prawn and smoked salmon tagliatelle, plus the sirloin steak. Can’t comment on the desserts as we were too full to try! Great decor, surroundings and atmosphere. No problem to park. Big shout out to Amie, who made our visit even more enjoyable - professional and friendly from the outset. Big thanks to Gemma and Josh for our amazing food! Four extremely happy people - thank you - we will definitely be back!

Just dropped in for a drink here, but I was that taken by it, I ended up booking a room for the night.

The staff were excellent and won me over by showing me one of the rooms, which was beautiful. Absolutely spotless and recently decorated, it was one of the best kept rooms I've ever seen.

The food was very nice and guests have a choice of eating in the restaurant or ordering pizzas from a hatch, which can be eaten outside or in a neighbouring pub called 'The Talbot', which is also run by the owner.

Outside are large gardens with tables, some of which are situated next to the river. They also have covered outdoor seating areas as well should the weather not be at its best.

This is also an ideal choice if visiting Alton Towers, as the location is just ten minutes by car or roughly half an hour if walking.

An excellent stay overall and would certainly book again.

Have today been for lunch for my nieces birthday, and what an amazing meal. I had the fish and chips and it was amazing I have never seen such a plate full of food, it was top quality I couldn't eat it all as there was so much. The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely be going again very soon. Would highly recommend

After a cold rainy long day at Alton Towers. This was the perfect restaurant to stumble across. We was lucky enough to get a table and enjoy the most delicious food & welcoming service. Thank you! We will definitely be making it a routine when we next visit!

Wonderful staff catering to me being gluten free. Chef cooked the sea bass even though he wasn’t confident. Amazing food and atmosphere. I would definitely re-visit if I’m in the area. Delicious chips. Wonderful views!

Came all the way from london to visit Alton Towers and stopped in this lovely pub for some lunch and the food in this place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The chef really knows his /her stuff. I had homemade chicken and mushroom pie, and boy, it was out of this world. I then went on to order the homemade chocolate brownie for dessert, and again absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely drive 3 hours to have food here again. Great service also.

Stayed at the Alton Bridge 10 & 11 th August 2022 for two nights. Rooms great and the owner Sandra was so accommodating as were all the staff. Breakfast unbeatable and evening meals fantastic. The young barman Alex at their adjoining pub the Talbot was faultless in his way with our whole large group, keeping the drinks flowing seamlessly! Wouldn’t hesitate to book there again , truly 5 star.

After a very wet walk, we had lunch for a friend's birthday. The staff had been very accommodating as we reserved a table outside but, due to the weather, had to rearrange to indoors. Even though the food was prepared nextdoor, it was hot and tasty. The food was fresh and my steak and ale pie delicious and home made. The whole party was pleased with their meals and the beers were obviously well kept. Some of us had been several times before, the others have said they will be back.

Lovely pub, friendly staff and the best steak pie I ever had. Everyone in our party said their meals were very tasty. We took some puddings away and they were delicious also. Will definitely come back again
