The White Lodge

Fantastic food and service. Had a lovely meal here this evening. We haven’t been in years but decided to give it a try after hearing good things about the current menu. Really good selection of both Gluten Free and Dairy Free options. All staff were very knowledgeable on the menu items and able to confidently answer our questions straight away. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot. Staff were very attentive, making sure everyone had what they needed without being intrusive. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful old pub with a great choice of beers, lagers and food. We arrived just after it opened for the day on Sunday 5th May. There is a choice of several areas to sit and eat or just drink and watch the world go bye including two outdoor seating areas. We had the Sunday roast (beef) and the pie of the day (steak and mushroom)

We was looking for a Sunday roast on our way back home from a trip away in Norfolk and stubbled across this place on our journey home and what a great result we had. The roast was delightful. Really nice pub with a good atmosphere plus the food was great. Would recommend a visit.

Fabulous meal, best Sea bass I've had in ages and lots of it. My friend had equally generous and delicious portion of lamb's liver and bacon. Lovely attentive service too, would definitely recommend

Have driven past so many times, but today we decided to stop by.. Pleased we did... A very quiet day, a lovely meal and polite friendly service.. Very well worth the visit...
Also a really nice selection of Veggie options.. Though I had their burger and it was delish..

Had a lovely meal this evening at The White Lodge. The lady that seated and looked after us was absolutely lovely and very kind towards our 18 month old. Food was lovely, generous portions and good value for money. Service was great and in a lovely environment. Highly recommend and will definitly be returning.

Good choice of food on the menu, staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, the profiteroles are very tasty and moorish!
Overall a great dining experience!

The White Lodge is a pub and restaurant on the old Norwich to London Road which now runs parallel here to the A11. It has been refurbished recently and has a large, barn like, restaurant space, which was full apart from the table booked for us, when we arrived.

The menu is eclectic but included lots of things we like. There were four of us here for dinner and we all enjoyed it.

One of the party began with Whitebait while I had Chicken Wings in Smoky Hickory BBQ Sauce which were sticky and lovely.

Our friends shared a delightful Baked Camembert plate together.

For mains one of us had a venison burger which came served with lettuce, tomato and pickle and a red cabbage and apple coleslaw and chunky chips. Another the spiced halloumi burger which was served with similar trimmings.

I had a Warm Goat’s Cheese Salad with two generous pieces of goat’s cheese and a lovely fresh salad drizzled with a sticky balsamic vinegar, wonderful.

And our final guest opted for the Salmon with roasted potatoes and vegetables and a rocket salad which was a real treat.

Each of us were very happy with our respective meals.

Only two of us had desserts one which was a huge Wild Berry Eton Mess and another had Caramel Crunch cheesecake with Popcorn, both went down well.

Overall, lovely food in an open and airy setting.

Question. If you’re driving up or down the A11 why would you stop at a service station and eat s**t when you could stop somewhere like this?
A warm and friendly welcome as soon as we entered, the good service didn’t stop there. Myself and Mrs O ordered 3 small plate’s between us which was perfect for our needs. The food was freshly prepared and delicious, accompanied by a good choice of beers.

We could have had McKuntucky King at the services, I think we made the right choice

Great food. Liver and bacon with garlic mash was delicious. Plenty of room and great service. The ginger sticky toffee dessert was amazing all at a reasonable price person. Really impressed

Been there a couple of times over the last few weeks and we absolutely love it! We will definitely be eating here more often. Food is delicious, atmosphere is lovely (we were sat by the open fire this evening) and customer service is brilliant. Would highly recommend this place! 😊

Called in on way back from Thetford originally planning to stop at another pub/restaurant nearby but the white Lodge looked more appealing.
Rather empty (and a bit cold) on entering but it was 1200.

Great menu with good range of GF dishes. Why do other places find it difficult to offer GF dishes?
My wife had crispy chilli beef to start and fishcakes as a main. Bothe were excellent in taste and presentation.
I opted for the fish goujons in a ciabatta and whilst OK it could do with more fish and less batter.
Overall a lovely lunch, good service and tasty food. Just maybe turn the heating on b4 opening 😉

It was busy for a Thursday lunchtime so worthwhile booking if you can. A good quintessentially old English thatched pub/restaurant. Well worth a visit.

Delicious food with options for gluten and dairy free. Very friendly staff. Was very busy, but food was served in good time. Will definitely be going back.

Had a lovely lunch with friends today. Food was lovely. Will be going again as our friends have booked it for my birthday!

Cannot recommend this place enough, we came here on a whim after visiting the dogs trust nearby and we brought our dog Harry, the staff were so friendly towards him and accommodating towards where to seat us.

Me and my partner both had the venison burger which is part of their limited time menu, honestly one of the best burgers we've ever had, we would love for this to stay on the menu for when we return!

Cannot recommend enough for a great atmosphere and top class food! 👌
