Best sausage roll I've ever had! We went here twice on our trip and had fantastic hot chocolates, doughnuts, flapjacks, scones, and of course apple pie! Delicious bakery, great cafe. Would recommend to anyone!

Surprisingly well priced considering the great location and cozy rooms. The bakery is excellent with both good pastries and real bread.

Rooms aren't huge but they are clean and warm and have cozy vibes. Showers work well. The room included real coffee and a cafetiere. Nice touch with some house made gingerbread as well.

Would definitely stay again.

Stopped by for lunch today. It was brilliant the little salad dish that came with our jacket potatoes was lovely. Something we would never of tried but loved it. Recommend the apple pie bakery unfortunately we didn't have cake next time though we will. Very reasonable pricing for the lakes which is nice.

Visited the cafe today with my twins in a double pram on my own. I could not have been made to feel more welcome. The staff were lovely! I had a coffee and a delicious scone and really enjoyed my time here. I'll definitely be returning soon. Thank you!

Went for the gluten free apple pie with vegan ice cream and was very pleased with the taste. It was a good sized portion of pie. Also got a gluten free brownie with vanilla ice cream. The brownie was a bit on the small side but tasted great. Would recommend for gluten free dessert.

We love this incredible B&B and their cafe is stunning. Breakfast portions are big and it's a good cost. The baguettes and savoury options (and their famous apple pie!) we're also incredible. We will be returning ASAP!

Popped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Bunch butty was delicious sausages full of flavour. My partner's got chocolate hit the spot perfectly to warm her up on a cold winters day and my latte was full of flavour. Gutted I didn't have time to try the apple pie but will be back one day for it

We really wanted to try here after seeing it look busy on previous visits to Ambleside and we wasn't disappointed. We've visited the bakery a few times and always been impressed with the tasty food but this was our first time in the cafe.We waited just a few minutes to be seated. The staff are really welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered the steak and caramelised onion ciabatta which was cooked to perfection. Would recommend.

Eaten here twice, once for breakfast and once for a hot chocolate and apple pie. It was so delicious! The apple pie is so yummy and I had a hot chocolate with oat milk and it was great! Also to top it off we sat right next to a little log fire which was so toasty. Would come back!

The staff at this place are incredible. They were extremely accommodating for our large group of 10 and the food was fantastic, particularly the titular apple pie. Highly recommended

We wanted to have a seat for lunch and were a bit confused by the informations outside. We thought that we had to buy the food first and then can have a sit in their terrace area. After we paid we noticed a queue and understood that we bought our food to takeaway. It was fine as we found a little bench to have a sit. The sandwiches were good but the apple slice was the highlight. It was very good! Next time we would love to come and have a sit for lunch or a little afternoon treat.

Lovely setting, right by the river in ambleside. Plenty of setting and dog friendly. The cakes were delicious, I would highly recommend the apple pie. The homemade raspberry lemonade was also lovely.
Staff were helpful even when our dog had a little oops moment!

Great bakery and cafe located at Ambleside. One of the first spots next to the main carpark within the town and one of the best. The bakery is fantastic plenty of choice. The cafe is lovely but can get busy, you might have to queue up to get seating as it can get very busy being so popular. A lot of fresh homemade items for sale. Seating outside has heating to keep you warm. Filled with walkers so I didn't feel out of place in my walking gear.

Nice cafe on the Main Street. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable when I enquired about allergy information. Gluten free flour used in the cakes. Products are well labelled and a great choice for those with allergies. Nice cafe around the side of the building too.

We enjoyed lunch here in early September and had great tasting food which was served quickly and tasted fresh. Even the dog had the two items from the dog menu. Staff were friendly and a good range of options on the menu. Highly recommended!

I didn’t stay but my dog and I called in for breakfast before heading to Grasmere. They have a humble selection of all the favourites, all reasonably priced, but I chose a bowl of muesli to go with a coffee. Plus some locally made dog treats (not for me). The food was good, fast service, friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely staff, can sit inside or outside (some tables are under cover, others are not). Nice coffee and delicious cakes, I highly recommend buying the 'spiced apple and sultana pie' and taking it home to have warmed + ice cream 😋.

Totally worth it if you can get a table in the cafe. Very cosy and the spiced apple pie is magical! Great selection of other slices and drinks too.
