We were travelling around in the area & were looking for a quaint English pub that did a Sunday roast & came here due to other people’s reviews. We were not disappointed the food was excellent. The pate was delicious & the Sunday roast came with a large amount of side dishes of roasted potatoes, broccoli, parsnips, carrots & peas. The service was good & the ambience was lovely.

Visited this lovely restaurant with friends who had used it many times before and was not disappointed. Food was fabulous, service was excellent all freshly produce on the day and home made. I had to the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection, the fish pie was excellent with large pieces of fish and very tasty and excellent portion sizes the desserts were also very good. I Would highly recommend this gem to anybody who is looking for quality fresh food in a lovely setting.

Practically on my doorstep for 40 years but I went there for the first time on Saturday. I was taken there by a very good friend who had mentioned and praised the Linny many times. I have to say it surpassed my expectations. I have given 5 stars for the food, staff and atmosphere because it couldn't have been any better. I can't wait for next visit.

Amazing service, very accommodating. We had not booked but they squeezed us in. Food was served quickly and gave us top ups of gravy. Their attitude to service was exemplary.

Went last Saturday evening for our friends birthday. The restaurant was very busy but we had a great table upstairs at the end of the restaurant. So much choice of food and specials. The food and service was amazing, well done to Simon and his staff, it was a great evening. So if you’re looking for great food, great service and a good price get yourself booked in at the Linny.

What a fabulous pub with a thatched roof. We were worried if there was going to be a table as the car park was so full but all the staff were so accommodating and friendly, although we did decide to sit outside in the end due to the nice weather. The food was absolutely delicious probably one of the best steak and kidney pies I've had. They also knew how to look after the cask ales. It's definitely worth a visit and we will definitely be going back.
Unfortunately my photos don't do the food justice.

Loved it. Wish I was in the main dining area but we had a larger number and someone's gotta sit out the back I suppose. Food was yummy. Service was great. Altho our waiter did describe something incorrect to how it arrived but they quickly apologised and brought extra mash when asked. Nothing was a trouble it made you feel. Really recommend this place. Book well ahead.

Well worth waiting for. Has been on the list for some time as word locally is it's a great place to eat. And the word was correct. This was an evening for 3 of us.
Parking a little tight so being early for your definitely required reservation is advisable.
Thatched period building just aching with history.
We were welcomed at he bar and immediately shown to our table where menu delivered and drinks orders taken. It was compact and a little tight but if you don't mind that it was comfortable.
Antipasti whilst choosing from the menu was very generous. Designed for two but would easily have done for for 5 or 6. Full selection and the lemon olive oil was lovely.
Starters, battered whitebait, pate and mushrooms
Beautiful. Very generous portíons. Onion relish/pickle that came with the pate something of a star in its own right
Two items chosen from the specials board and one from the menu.
Special 1: duck in a reduced blackberry sauce, 2:slow roasted lamb shank and wild mushrooms
Menu: chicken with brie and mushrooms.
See below for pics. Wonderful. Plates hot, presentation was careful and clearly thoughtfully done, prompt polite cheerful and knowledgeable service and the food? Well superb may just cover it. Totally lovely.
We didn't have dessert but I'm sure they would have been as good. Fully recommend this as a lovely location, not private but intimate, well presented, great food. All round lovely evening.

Great atmosphere, fantastic staff, amazing food. Busy, definitely need to book, and the one criticism is we felt maybe they'd squeezed in one table too many, but it wasn't a problem. Our server was in that rare breed, certainly for a pub - perceptive and aware, yet discreet. Timing was spot on - when we were actually ready to order there she was, there was just the right gap between courses, etc. It was more than coincidence - it's something that's hard to get right and she got it spot on, whilst managing to appear that she was genuinely enjoying her job.

Excellent vegan and vegetarian options, huge range of fish, plus everything else too.

Traditional thatched pub done right, as borne out by reviews and popularity.

Great service, food, atmosphere and experience. Big menus (food/drink) and it all seems to be done well. Owners are chatty and engaging , clearly want to ensure you have a good experience. They remembered me and my dad by first name despite not seeing us in many years. Pub has an old school design with an upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs is more casual bar vibes, upstairs more restauranty. Currently need to book 3/4 weeks in advance. A Must visit.

Really lovely pub, but not enough parking for all customers, food was delicious and reasonably priced for such good quality cuisine. Wine was lovely but eye wateringly expensive. Do I recommend this place? You bet..
