We were staying at Alton Towers for a few days and found the food on the resort very limited. So we went for a drive and found The New Broom. Very happy we did, the food was delicious and good sized portions for a very reasonable price.
The menu wasn't massive but had a good variety of options to suit all palates.
The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The barmaid was very helpful in recommending an alternative cider to what my husband usually drinks when they didn't have it. She clearly had a good drinks knowledge.
It was around a 30 minute drive from Alton Towers but well worth it in our opinion.

We visited here after a visit to Alton Towers (about 15 min drive). The food was absolutely beautiful and steaming hot on arrival, the portions are massive and I couldn't eat it all, prices are really good for the amount of delicious food you get. Even the kids meals are plentiful and comes with 2 scoops of ice cream. Lovely little play area outside and plenty of benches to sit on. It also has a campsite attached to it for tourers, motorhomes and tents. Will definitely return.

Just had a lovely meal here with our 2 youngest children. All home cooked food, children enjoyed it as well. Nice location with a lovely play area for the children to run round in. Service was excellent. Will definitely come back again

Been here a couple of times and was always a nice visit, not disappointed again. Nice service and good choice of drinks. Restaurant was busy, so a good sign during our midweek visit. Friendly pub with good staff.

Stayed at The New Broom in our Caravan for the weekend while we went to Alton Towers. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, but especially John. We got back late from Alton Towers one evening, and even though it was past food cut off time, John still made us some food, which by the way is all home cooked and tasted absolutely delicious!
The beer is great and the pub is gorgeous.
Would definitely recommend

17 June 2024 - It was our first time to The New Broom P.H., and we weren't disappointed. The building from the road presents well, and offers a large parking area with marked out bays. Internally, the decor is attractive, soft muted colours, and clean.

Went a couple of weeks ago and had one of the specials (lamb lobby) which was delicious, so much so I decided to have it again this week. I wish they had served it in the same deep pottery bowl which retained the heat but instead they served it in a steel curry dish which went cold so quickly and there didn't seem as much. It went from a 5/5 first time to a 3/5 the second time. Food is delicious but just as a bit of friendly feedback, Lobby needs a bowl not a curry dish. Will still be back though.
**EDIT**
As promised above, we returned. The landlord bless him knew I'd left a review commenting on the curry dish. Deliciousness returned and it was served in a deep pottery dish. Stayed warm until the end and tasted just as good if not better than the first time. My wife had a special burger and went for a side of home cut chips which were to die for (I agree (I pinched a couple) Well done. Now I need to try something else

Lovely public house with a large variety of beers and spirits.
I was there with family for a Sunday lunch Carvery and it was beyond expectation.
Large selection of meats and vegetables, meat is carved onto your plate and then you help yourself to whatever vegetables you desire..
Staff and the owners were very friendly and helpful.
Shame that the Carvery is only on Sunday lunchtime but absolutely well worth every penny and not expensive.
Great value for money and I will definitely recommend it.
Will return later in the year..
Deserts was to die for, excellent quality thank you very much.
